I’d like to keep Lewis but I’m assuming he goes.
The quicker we have contracts the better it will be

Re: Hanging on for 26
Here are the positives:
As of now, 6 of our top 15 all-time commits are in the 2026 class. This includes the highest rated recruit in school history, 4 star TE Jamel Howse. Our 2026 class is currently ranked 60th in the country, ahead of a handful of P4 schools and the top G6s like UNLV, Memphis, Tulane, etc. Dlo is a recruiter.
although we went 5-7, we lost 3 of those games by 1 score. I think a lot of this comes down to play calling. With a decent OC I believe we could have easily been 8-4 or better this year.
Buy in. After a 4 game losing streak, and the largest margin of defeat in school history, we came back and played hard to beat Marshall, and have a highly competitive game against Arky St. This coaching staff did an amazing job rallying our guys and keeping hope alive.
It all depends on how the transfer portal shakes out, but I still believe in Dowell and the rest of this coaching staff. My way too early prediction for next year is an 8-5 season with a bowl W, followed up with a SBC championship in 27'. Despite a couple down years, it's important to remember that we are still one of the premier G6 programs. TIGMA!

Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s wait to see who stays and who goes in the TP first. Baby steps.

Re: Hanging on for 26
Any clue if our nil account is giving out more $ than last year or previous years?
It is what it is.. whether I like or not... It does play a role into getting some guys in the portal as compared to another team.

Re: Hanging on for 26
This could all be relative. I would not be surprised to see NIL funding back off at schools, as fans/donors continue to hate the system. I’m not saying it will happen at every program, but there may be push back, especially in programs that are not winning. “Dig Deeper” may fall on deaf ears.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 11:23 amAny clue if our nil account is giving out more $ than last year or previous years?

From someone within our administration who should know: In 2026, we will more than double our NIL fund for football from its current $1.3 million to something closer to $3M. That doesn’t mean NIL fundraising has doubled. It merely means existing funds within the athletics department have been redirected to NIL.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 11:23 amAny clue if our nil account is giving out more $ than last year or previous years?

Re: Hanging on for 26
Injuries hurt in my opinion. We need to get more depth to cover that. We also didn't have nearly the talent we needed to be successful. Hopefully the coaching staff knows what to look for and gets them on board for 26. To be honest in my opinion I didn't see a whole lot of on field blunders from past seasons or multiple bone head play calls. There were both obviously but we just got beat by a bunch of teams just better than us and that is a first. We have always had enough talent to win. I don't think we did this season. Hoping for better in 2026. Stay tuned!

Re: Hanging on for 26
Of course we had enough talent to win, that's why so many games were so close. Did we have the talent to win the conference? No, we did not. Did we have enough talent to beat Southern Miss, Old Dominion, Coastal, Georgia Southern, and Arkansas State? Of course we did, and I can point to bone headed play calls in each of those games and/or obvious player mistakes that cost us each game. Win those 5 and we are talking about a much different season. We lost ALL of those games because of poor player execution, bad play calls, bad coaching, and undisciplined play. We had enough talent to win; we didn't have enough talent to play poorly and make mistakes and still win. It was coaching and piss poor player performance that cost us those games. If it were just talent, we wouldn't have been in any of those games. Let's not kid ourselves, the entire Sun Belt is really down this year from a talent point of view and although we are also down, we are still comparable to our peers in the talent department.

It’s that time of year in the new NCAA.
Who’s starting the portal thread?
Elijah McCantos is in it.
Thomas Davis as well, but he got kicked off, so it doesn’t count.
