Why don’t you learn to ask instead of jumping to conclusions. I even said that I agreed with the thoughts and offered no opinion other than the facts. Grow up man.

If you think it's THAT easy, please express your interest in joining the Yosef Club Advisory board. Trust me, it isn't THAT easy to do. There are hurdles on everything that must be jumped.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 11:36 amThere’s plenty of other schools who have spring games that aren’t on ESPN. Bama manages to win Natty’s while burning one on a spring game every year. Bottom line is for how much this program wins, and how much the fan base talks itself up online, it frankly does not walk the walk in terms of support. In my eyes, a lot of blame falls at the feet of the athletic department and Yosef club. I’d love nothing more than an excuse to go to Boone for the weekend in a “Meet the Pirates” scenario. Or a Saturday in March where the whole town is buzzing because alumni have come up the mountain to begin the next football season campaign. Make it an event, get pigs cooking on Rivers street, get bands playing near the stadium, have raffles and giveaways. It’s like these folks think Instagram and Twitter posts is the key to unlocking the potential of the fan base. Nope. It’s engagement and experiences, which quite frankly App is piss poor at.
While I agree the athletic department and Yosef Club are subpar in their marketing efforts, its not from a lack of trying. Simply put, there isn't enough money. The employees we currently have get paid very little and work 60+ hours a week just to get the bare minimum done.
We really need to grow Yosef Club so we can have the staff needed the plan, organize, and run the type of events you mentioned above.
Everyone knows we need more Yosef members. What i type of investment is the department putting in to achieve that? A new website? I’m still pretty tight with about 10 guys from App all in their late 20’s and a couple at 30 who all watch App. I’m the only Yosef member of the bunch, and believe me I’ve pleaded. It all comes back to “what do i get out of it”, which i can’t blame them. The Yosef gifts for different giving levels, quite honestly, are a joke. You can’t just depend on altruism to get Yosef members, there has to be enticement. And the thing is there a very cool things that could be done at hardly any expense. If it’s not a lack of trying, it’s certainly a lack of any imagination.
I think Sheldon Smith is still the president of the Yosef Club advisory board. Please reach out to him if you have so many good ideas!

Just curious, what do other schools offer in the way of incentives? I genuinely don't know so I'm just asking anyone for knowledge sake.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 11:36 amEveryone knows we need more Yosef members. Out of all of the people I know who went to App with me and my friend group, 2 of us are Yosef Club members. I've also pleaded my case to family and friends and they all respond with "why?"
I also realize that there are few people who keep up with App sports after they graduate, and I'm not sure why, which I think is the key factor that many people on here have a blind spot on due to our rabid fandom. If anything, I've gotten more into App sports since I left. Heck, I've literally offered on Twitter 2 separate times to sponsor a Student Yosef Club membership and no one will even accept a free membership. I'm most certainly sponsoring my cousin who starts this year at App though.

C’mon man, where did i say it was easy? No need to overstate what I said. Bottom line is not much of anything is done in terms of fan engagement, do you disagree with that? I mean here’s a very small example of what I’m getting at:AppStateNews wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 11:59 amIf you think it's THAT easy, please express your interest in joining the Yosef Club Advisory board. Take a look at Pirate Club benefits vs Yosef Club benefits. You’re telling me the best Yosef can do for folks who give $1000 is to give them 3 different newsletters & a donor packet along with an option for parking IF you’re a season ticket holder? Meanwhile if you give $500 to the Pirate Club you get invites to special events, access to the Pirate Club level on Gamedays and you get recognized in the Gameday Programs.$750 gets you into the basketball hospitality room at ECU, while it’s $2500 at App. I mean, c’mon.
Funny thing I actually have brought up to a YCAB member that I would be more than interested in helping, but didn’t really get a return answer. If anyone on this board wants to take me up on that then please feel free. My DM’s are open.

Check the post above this. I used ECU as a comparison. I posted a link to their benefits page as well as Yosefs. It’s mind boggling how much more they do for their fans for much less.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:02 pmJust curious, what do other schools offer in the way of incentives? There’s also the 1200 club at Arkansas State. 12 monthly payments of $100 gets you invites to private events, pregame and postgame tailgates, exclusive apparel, every member gets their name on the main concourse and video board during the game, and chances to interact with the head coach and others in the football operation.

Why can all these other peer schools offer this type of engagement but not App?

Thanks for sharing. The lack of interest post graduation has always baffled me as well. With the passion and enthusiasm that our student section shows every game, it seems like a growth of even 100 a year should be attainable.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:02 pmJust curious, what do other schools offer in the way of incentives? I've already said it -- because there isn't the money to pay for the employees to organize and run the events -- let alone market them.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:18 pmThere’s also the 1200 club at Arkansas State. 12 monthly payments of $100 gets you invites to private events, pregame and postgame tailgates, exclusive apparel, every member gets their name on the main concourse and video board during the game, and chances to interact with the head coach and others in the football operation.

I think this a much more professional answer than the brush aside that Clark did, but hey to each their own.

Where did you say this? I also just can’t buy that’s employees of the athletic dept and Yosef can’t wear a couple different hats to simply host people. I’ve paid for marketing through IG and FB working in a D2 athletic department, it ain’t back breaking money.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:30 pmI've already said it -- because there isn't the money to pay for the employees to organize and run the events -- let alone market them.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:18 pmThere’s also the 1200 club at Arkansas State. 12 monthly payments of $100 gets you invites to private events, pregame and postgame tailgates, exclusive apparel, every member gets their name on the main concourse and video board during the game, and chances to interact with the head coach and others in the football operation.

In my initial response -- you know the one that you replied to and said "You dont need to spend money, you just need to use your imagination." So, you clearly saw it.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 1:42 pm

The employees are already wearing 2,3,4, sometimes 5 hats and getting paid less than minimum wage for the hours they work.
Sure, they can develop some social media adds. But when there is literally $0 in the bank at end of fiscal year, that would mean they would have to cut something else back.
Bottom line, there isn't the kind of money in Yosef.

I would make this the post of the century! HOWEVER, the poor results concerning season ticket sales and Yosef club membership are not new. The results have been VERY poor from the ‘70’s when I joined. For the first 30 or so years of Yosef we had very poor leadership. But, the last 2 AD’s have been pretty sharp and yet the results are still poor! Time to try some new ideas. Heck, if just everyone on the board would produce ONE new member we ‘d increase membership 10% .Yosef10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 10:41 amPretty short sighted IMO.
