Fact that App managed to play 11 games is a testament to the dedication of the players and coaches, getting to play in a bowl game is just gravy no matter the opponent.

Love the early date (12/21), let's get the win and get the players and coaches gone to spend time with their family for the holidays.

Well, next time we have an opportunity to beat ranked opponents on back-to-back weeks we'll seal the deal. This is Coastal's and Louisana's year...we still have an undefeated bowl record to defend...whether we're playing Northern Texas or Texas A&M.

yup. which is why we should not be rooting for coastal. they have already surpassed us in the eyes of the media in one year.

If CCU is 8-3 next season, they’ll get their scores reported on the bottom line, and that’s it. Just like us this year. If you aren’t P5, you aren’t squat to ESPN. Just ask UCF, Memphis, etc. The hot team gets the coverage, otherwise you bring no eyes.

I am somewhat disappointed that we are paired with a team with a losing record but this UNT team can put up some numbers. They lead CUSA in both rushing and passing offense, averaging 500+ yards a game. Of course, they are dead last in the defense against both. Could be an entertaining game. It does point out, however, the irrelevance of an 8-3, 3rd place Sun Belt team in the grand scope of things. Nonetheless, it is one final opportunity to see our guys play this year.

I am somewhat surprised with as many bowls that are not being played this year that he 8th best CUSA team is playing. I'm anxious to see who doesn't snag a bowl bid. Four or five schools have opted out but with 20 slots not available this year, I wouldn't have thought a G5 under .500 would be playing.

North Texas is disappointing as an opponent, but I'm not so sure it is a commentary on anything other than the craziness of this year's season. App opted for the "local" game for reasons that wouldn't apply to any other year. North Texas wouldn't have been eligible in any other year. Let's just play the game and enjoy watching our Apps one last time before the off-season.

Did we have other options? I'm not disappointed with Myrtle Beach given our finish and the dates, we were likely going here or Mobile. The NO Bowl was possible but they may have wanted a different SBC team. I think it can be an entertaining game given the Mean Green's offensive prowess. I also understand this isn't a normal year and technically everyone is bowl eligible. I'm just wondering what the future looks like with 20 more slots available.

As I've said before. If we can't have a premier (P5 or AAC) opponent then it makes no difference to me who it is but I'd rather play someone we haven't played ever or recently. To me it's more important to keep the bowl winning streak going than face a strong G5 opponent that most people don't realize is a good opponent...Buffalo comes to mind. They may be good but nobody really knows that so why risk a loss..

It's a CUSA opponent. I mean, is there anyone over there who doesn't suck? Let's go beat the brakes off the Green Bird or whatever they are and get that dirty myrtle trophy with free drinks at the dollhouse for the players and call this season done.

SMU or Memphis would have been more appropriate in my opinion. But, what ya going to do?

I would LOVE to get a big lead and then give the younger players some reps on national TV. Especially at QB.

You play the games you’re scheduled to play. People complaining about the opponent sound a little like Mr Chadwell...

I think there is a team called Marshall. Of course, they were never a real possibility given that they play this weekend.

Cam Peoples has 807 rushing yards on the year. NT gives up 230 rush yards per game, however, have only had 1 individual rush for more than 200 yards against them.

I stand corrected. Marsha blows.

Beat the Green Bird.

Cam would have to have a monster day to make the 1K mark, but you never know. If he breaks a couple of long ones, he could get there. If we had played a 12 game season, he probably would have made it. If we had played 12 games plus made the CCG he almost certainly would have made it, even sharing carries the entire season.
