Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
I consider this Stink game to be more important than whatever bowl we get. They've been a spoiler game 2 years in a row. We absolutely cannot let it be 3. We have the lead 18-15-1. That is a record I greatly desire to see improved. At this point, to hell with our 3 losses. I will judge our team more on this game than those 3 losses. Is that necessarily a fair way to judge, probably not, but that is how I feel about it. If Clark should know anything, its the importance of this game.
We really need a trophy based on both schools origins as teacher colleges.

Its time for our seniors to go nuts and bring this W home.

Re: Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
Winning this game AND a bowl game are a must for this season to be considered anything but a failure.
But we cannot realistically like our chances. No team owns Zac Thomas like Georgia Southern. And they are actually a tough side this year. Lost by 2 to Louisiana (without any bad long snapper snapps or free safety points), loat to Coastal by 14. They are 6-4 and just beat FAU.
Regardless of lines, they should be favored slightly at home. They own Zac and we are in disarray. If we win it doesn't mean much and if we lose its devastating for the future of the program.
Good thing is they have alot of injuries and hopefully Clark will recognize the necessity to try Huesman.

If we see the same, stagnant, non-dimensional offense that we’ve seen most of the season, Southern wins this game going away. They will stack the box to stop our run game and control the clock with theirs. I’m mentally preparing myself for total domination by the Stink.

HC will not be starting H over ZT. I will bet Vegas money on that. H only gets in the game if ZT is injured which I hope does not happen. H may see action if we or they have game out of hand.Tatedc wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 11:14 pmWinning this game AND a bowl game are a must for this season to be considered anything but a failure.

I have to agree, and our team (top to bottom) probably realizes this as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, to date we have only defeated one team with a winning record (Georgia State, and we almost lost that one). If we go down there and stumble all over ourselves again heaven help us.

Yep. This is the last chance we have to put some lipstick on this pig of a lost season. At this point, I am not optimistic.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 8:32 am"I consider this Stink game to be more important than whatever bowl we get."

Re: Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
Unlike our losses this year, this Stink team is neither ranked, nor are they having a special season. Considering last season, we owe them big, and they should be fearing us. But are they? We can pull out stats from all-time or past 10,etc..., but this Lundsford led regime thinks they have our number, and that THEY are the bully taking our lunch money, regardless of our trophies.
We can deal with Coastal and UL next season. We HAVE to restore order with this bunch NOW. We have plenty of talent to do it, and we know exactly what they are going to do. The question is, can the offense get out of its funk and take care of business? This group of seniors have accomplished way too much to have a losing record to the Stink. This time there’s little on the line except for pride. Time to let down our hair, pin back our ears, and unleash all we have on this bunch.

Re: Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
As much as I believe Clark needs to put Huessman in a few series so Zac can calm down and get some perspective, I'm sure he won't. Zac has put too much pressure on himself this year and it has caused him to make bad decisions. Huessman's decisions were clean and crisp earlier this year when he was able to play when Zac was hurt. I'm not saying Huessman is an overall better QB, its just sometimes QB's need to sit to clear their head and refocus them.

Disarray? Come on man. Go fill your coffee cup up. You appear to be half empty. We are dealing with injuries to guys with experience that we were counting on. We are playing guys that probably wouldn’t see the field much this year, if at all. It’s football.Tatedc wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 11:14 pmWinning this game AND a bowl game are a must for this season to be considered anything but a failure.

Re: Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
While I would like to win this game, I just hope we can show up with a good game plan and execute. Limit penalties and NO turnovers. I hope we are prepared to anticipate and make in game adjustments.
They have beaten us recently by being more physical, making us one dimensional and getting in our heads. We will need to be physically tough but also play smart. Someone needs to get Armanti Edwards to come and talk to this team about preparing to play Georgia Southern...

No rain on a dry field, 50 degrees, extra day of prep, limited yet rowdy crowd, focus on Werts, extra motivation to right a wrong - we will win!

I was looking at the box score for this game, did not see Werts , JD King , and Wesley Kennedy for obivous reasons his legal troubles. He could be off the team for all i know. Their running game still looked pretty potent. We will have to play a well coached , mistake free and Zac bring his A game.

QB mistakes beat us at Coastal and I don’t think ZT was 100 percent after the Ga State game .But it was Shawn’s call to play him. I thought going in that if we don’t turn it over we win and Husemann gave us the best shot at that .I’m hoping he comes back next year either as the starter or mentor to Tabscott.

Re: Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
I don’t think there’s anything to worry about when it comes to players getting up for this game. But if the OC continues to call the same plays he’s called all season, no amount of energy or “want to” will overcome that.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 8:41 amUnlike our losses this year, this Stink team is neither ranked, nor are they having a special season. The OC works for the Head Coach. The buck starts ,and stops there.

Well the HBC thinks that Peterson calls a good game. So you are saying that you have lost faith in Clark?

I don’t know what Shawn thinks. If he has told you that’s great. I like Shawn but I see things like Hannon’s boneheaded personal foul , which was a potential game changer , and he’s not pulled for a play and “ coached up” ? It makes me wonder if he has this job figured out. Doug will give him time but things are not what was expected given the returning talent. I do see the same “ fire Ted Roof” mentality as it relates to Petersen. The bottom line is on the head coach , not his assistants.

The players know it. Clark knows it. Petersen knows it. Something has to change on the offensive side. And it's not the QB. Don't be surprised when we have a new play caller...

Re: Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
I know enough about you to know that if you are stating such dialogue that there is merit to what you are saying. And I am not defending Peterson at all. But if you were told before the season began that we would be without our WR1 all season, our RB2 would be lost for the season, our RB1, WR2 and WR3 would be hobbled and limited due to injury for the better part of the season. In turn, we would be operating with three Freshmen seeing more action at receiver than we were expecting and we our running game would be held together with a RS Soph coming off an ACL tear, and two True Freshmen, one who started the year as a 2nd team LB, that you would give a bit more grace to the offensive output? Not making excuses but c'mon man. We have been under attack from injuries all year. Compound that with the lack of off season work where these young guys could have gained some valuable time and experience with the playbook and reps. Is 7-3 at this point what I expected? NO. But given what we have seen and what we are working with, it isn't the end of the world. Just sayin.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 11:13 amThe players know it. Clark knows it. Re: Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
I think I noted a comment that Ga Southern owns ZT. We have lost last two. Wasn't he injured early in the first game. If this is true, the first game is not on him. I was at last years Halloween game. After we had two drop passes right in WRs hands, Drink abandoned the pass game until we got behind. Just my two cents.
