We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Fans next game
So, according to WFMY News 2, Gov Cooper is supposed to announce Friday our move to phase 3. What this means:
- movie theaters can open at 30% capacity
- bars can open at 30% capacity
- amusement parks at 30% capacity
- small outdoor venues at 30%
- large outdoor venues seating greater than 10,000 can open at 7% capacity
Can those of you that share Cooper's "safety" when I comes to Covid, PLEASE explain the logic of this?

I do not know for sure but I’m willing to accept that it might be a very conservative, slow and measured reopening. This is not intended to start an argument but simply giving an answer to a question.appst1992 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 5:32 pmSo, according to WFMY News 2, Gov Cooper is supposed to announce Friday our move to phase 3. 7% is such a random number when we think in increments of 5%, 10% and 33%. I can see 7% in the club seats but the stands...

Can you guys not just come clean with what you've heard or think you've heard? I hate all this cryptic crap. Not being in Boone or particularly close to anyone in the program, this board is where I get all my scoops. I am so looking forward to our game next week and was making plans to be in Boone to watch it in a bar, at least.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 8:49 amFrom everything I have heard, a bad way.appstate24 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 7:32 amIn a good way, or a bad way??PBR1893-BEER-HAT-GUY wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 8:41 pmDon’t think y’all will have to worry about that 7% number from what I’m hearing

We agree on this 1000%. I cannot figure out how you can have 30% at an amusement park, where people will most likely be sitting in close proximity to one another on rides and cannot have something similar to that at 30-70,000 stand football stadiums. What am i missing?

Re: Fans next game
I would love to not be cryptic but while I have my sources, nothing is confirmed until it is confirmed so I refuse to put anything out there that would cause people to make or cancel plans. I would just say if you have to make hotel reservations or anything of the like, I would hold off until the last possible minute to do so.mikeyosef wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 9:33 amCan you guys not just come clean with what you've heard or think you've heard? EDIT: Now that it's been announced. UL postponed, team essentially stopping operations for a bit.

Re: Fans next game
I have been very supportive of most of the Governor's plans to keep us as safe as reasonably possible. We rarely eat out now and when we do, it's at restaurants with outside or open air seating mostly due to my wife's insistence; not sure what we will do when Winter and colder weather hit. Having said that, it's hard to understand the rational for 7% capacity for outdoor sporting events. I do wish there was some explanation to go along with the requirement.
On the other hand, I know from close relatives, that outbreaks in Europe have been specifically traced back to the resumption of fans at sporting events (not sure of attendance restrictions)..maybe it has something to do with screaming fans, drunk fans, or the duration the time in the stands..I just don't know but I fully understand the questions everyone has around the 7% figure.

If I am keeping parents and/or students from attending any game or games , I will not be going to Boone this fall. They should be the priority. My opinion.

Depends on whether we listen to health professionals or not.

Re: Fans next game
I am content that although we don’t like it, health professionals are guiding our State’s response to the Pandemic.
Perhaps the difference with outdoor events with over 10,000 normal capacity is the difficulty of maintaining adequate standards of distance at ingress, egress, restrooms, concessions and common areas. These are difficult with 2,000 people. They would be impossible with 9,000 - especially with the tight dimensions of Kidd-Brewer.
I know it is painful when you can’t have what you want. This postponed game demonstrates the precarious position our school and program are in. The “99% of young people recover” group might want to ask an App family in Davidson County if they consider that a good deal.
Stop whining, Care for others, Act like a Mountaineer!
