Texas should be out. No three loss team should be in at this point in the season.

Wisconsin curb stomped two weeks in a row (yes counting Illinois who was a 30 point underdog). Do they stay in the top 20?

Saw the ending in Chapel Hill. Apparently Duke lost to...Duke.

Basically what you’d expect for bye teams. If teams ahead of them lose, they’ll move up. They won’t get jumped unless someone behind them does something particularly impressive.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 6:29 pmHow much movement is there typically with rankings for Bye teams? Wondering about Baylor and Cincy.
I’m assuming Oklahoma drops to the teens while Texas falls into the twenties or out all together.

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
We’ll jump Texas, maybe Wisconsin but it will be close. If I had to guess, I’d say no. Michigan obviously if they lose. K-State will jump into the rankings but I don’t think they’ll pass us.
Also we can officially put the “South Carolina would be the biggest win for any G5 contender” talk to bed.

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
Teams not playing usually go with the flow.
We'll jump Texas for sure to get to #20 in the AP. If Michigan loses to Notre Dame, we'll be at worst #19. It'll be interesting how far Wisconsin at #13 falls after losing to Ohio State. They might not fall far because tOSU is Tier 1 right now, but 38-7 is still 38-7.
I don't think #11 Auburn falls to us after playing LSU close in Death Valley.

Had Wisconsin not blown it to Illinois and still lost 38-7 today, that would’ve gone a long way toward clearing Cincy for their loss earlier.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 6:45 pmTeams not playing usually go with the flow.

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
I thought about that too. I think it still does to some extent. As long as OSU keeps doing this to Big Ten teams (esp. the better ones), it’s going to be pretty easy to give Cincy a pass.AppinVA wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 6:55 pmHad Wisconsin not blown it to Illinois and still lost 38-7 today, that would’ve gone a long way toward clearing Cincy for their loss earlier.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 6:45 pmTeams not playing usually go with the flow.

Hopefully AZ State can drop UCLA to 2-6 tonight since that’s Cincy’s only P5 win.

Teams on a bye just slot up but can get passed if a team just behind them has a big statement win. I would guess we won't pass any teams on a bye. Had we won like 49-0 then I could have seen it.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 6:29 pmHow much movement is there typically with rankings for Bye teams? Wondering about Baylor and Cincy.

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
They won't fall out. The question is do they fall to say 23-24 range and get passed by Kansas State? My guess is Kansas State enters around 22-23 and is just ahead of them. They should be.

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
Yeah but they played Ohio State better than Cincinnati did. I would not drop Wisconsin below Cincinnati but that might happen? I don't hold a butt kicking by Ohio State against anyone except Penn State. Ohio State would destroy us, SMU, already destroyed Cincy, Boise State, Michigan, and everyone else around us. They are for real.

Probably going to be #19 or 20. How high does Kansas State enter. I think Texas and Michigan drop below us but not Wisconsin. If Michigan wins then we will be #20.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 6:36 pmWhen Michigan loses, we should be anywhere between 18-20

I agree on the polls. I doubt we pass Wisconsin and I don't think we should.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 6:43 pmWe’ll jump Texas, maybe Wisconsin but it will be close. South Carolina is a big win because it would be a road SEC win. Among SMU, Cincy, App, and Boise State name the best P5 win of that group this year. SMU beat TCU so I would probably say that is the best P5 team beat by a G5 contender but a road win in the SEC (outside of Ole Miss, Vandy) are going to be considered a good win for a G5.
One thing that will be interesting is to see if the predictor on ESPN finally gives us a legit chance to win now that they got spanked by a bad Tennessee team. lol

I see ESPN having us at 30% or lower chance of winning. I hope so, in fact. We seem to excel at proving those sh!tbirds wrong!AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 7:07 pmI agree on the polls. Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
Texas should fall out of the top 25 with this loss. Texas A&M fell out of the rankings with 3 losses and those 3 were to Clemson, Auburn and Bama. Not many teams in all of football that wouldn't lose to those 3 but they were still dropped out. So I expect Texas to drop out, TCU isn't that good of a team this year at 4-3.

If I knew ND wouldn't make the playoffs I would be with you - can't stand harbaugh but ND doesn't deserve to even be considered unless they go 12-0 and even then I wouldn't like it - they won't join the conference then take your money and go to some bowl game but not the playoffs ---BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 7:26 pmI hate to cheer cheer for old Notre Dame, but here we are.

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
ND got a gift today with Oklahoma going down. They’re likely still out, provided there are no other big upsets. Heck, people are even talking that Clemson may not make it over a 1-loss SEC team (that won’t happen though), but I could see LSU or Bama still getting in over ND with a loss on their recordWVAPPeer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 7:38 pmIf I knew ND wouldn't make the playoffs I would be with you - can't stand harbaugh but ND doesn't deserve to even be considered unless they go 12-0 and even then I wouldn't like it - they won't join the conference then take your money and go to some bowl game but not the playoffs ---BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 7:26 pmI hate to cheer cheer for old Notre Dame, but here we are.

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)
This game should make any lingering questions about ND moot. They are down 17-0 and have been completely inept on offense.
