Spot on Cline. The injury bug has been a factor as well as graduation. Colllins, Colmer, and Cox were big losses at the time. Now we know exactly how big.NewApp wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2017 6:09 pmThen the rest of Gawgia's opponent this year must just be average teams because we fared better vs GA than any on that schedule. Too, we have suffered some key injuries off and on this season. Not an excuse, just that we are a different team than at the beginning of the season.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2017 4:37 pmIf not today, unless things change, we are going to lose another game or two. Re: Chat
The kicking game is childish and should be corrected at this point .

Re: Chat
Like others have said Holt will earn his check the rest of this year. It's completely mental at this point and I hate it for him. Unfortunately he has a job and he's not done it.

Re: Chat
Personally, as a coach, I would stay with Rubino next week - until he misses at least another one that should have been easily made --- as mentioned earlier, it is mental - He is not miss-hitting the ball ---

Re: Chat
It kills me to hear the crowd boo Rubino. Sure he is a head case right now and needs to be replaced but singling him out and booing is just classless.

Re: Chat
For those that might be on this board and booed Rubino; how would you feel if people were booing your child out there? No one is as disappointed in his efforts than he is. He is kicking a football. Your life, family, or job do not hinge on the kids abilities. Win or lose, the sun will come up tomorrow.

Yes I agree with this 100%. But the whole kicking game has been aweful for years and that is on the coaches not the fans.

Re: Chat
Booing your own player at the college level is as about as classless as it comes - much worse than some stupid chant in my opinion - totally pathetic behavior!!!

Re: Chat
Agree. Booing any player on the home team is unacceptable but if one isn’t getting the job done it’s time for a change. Rubino simply isn’t dependable right now. We have reached a point where a Short FG isn’t close to a gimme

Re: Chat
Fans don't have to like it but being frustrated is understandable. Trying is nice but when you are getting paid (free education) you are open to criticism. It is eventually going to cost us another game unfortunately.
The kicking game as a whole not just Rubino has problems. No blocking is an issue too.

Re: Chat
So the FCS schools like Davidson nonscholarship it's not ok to boo them because their education isn't paid for? Criticism is one thing...booing is entirely another, I don't care if you are a scholarship or a walk-on.

Re: Chat
I am almost there with you, but not quite. Being disappointed in concept, strategy, play calling, yes. But criticism of the kid, how would you feel about the criticism if it was your kid? Just adding perspective, not chastising you.Goapps15 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2017 8:44 pmFans don't have to like it but being frustrated is understandable. Oh I know man, I knew you weren't going after me. I just always to try and add perspective. I hate seeing him struggle.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2017 9:27 pmI am almost there with you, but not quite. Being disappointed in concept, strategy, play calling, yes. Re: Chat
That's a huge exaggeration. Until the Wake game, after his inauspicious start v. UT, Rubino had been close to automatic. The year before (2015) Matics was automatic. Everyone was ready to ditch Matics after his 2014 struggles. Fortunately, we stuck with him as he made the winning FG in the 2015 Camelia Bowl.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2017 8:03 pmYes I agree with this 100%. Clearly, Rubino is in a funk and perhaps it's time to give Staton a chance. But, Rubino can kick at this level. Over a 12-14 game stretch he was excellent.

Re: Chat
I’m sure Rubino is a great kid and is doing his best but this is getting crazy. Attempts of 30 yards or really anything under 45 yards should not be such an absolute adventure. We are seriously at a point where it’s less than a 50% chance of even getting the kick off.

Re: Chat
It’s past time at this point to try the backup. Right now Rubino’s Head is spinning and I’m not sure Freud could get him back. Unfortunately kicking is a pass/fail endeavor and a sustained funk gets you beat. We’re winning so it ok now but when it’s not...
