Re: Bama Washington
Hard not the think that the 2 best teams made it thru after those 2 tail kickings. Odd that you play all these college football games, conference championships and a 4 team playoff and you get a replay of last years final. I guess that shows just how good the Bama and Clemson programs are right now.

I think the experience helped Bama and Clemson. They've been there before. Clemson literally in the same stadium. Think Bama would schedule App? Don't believe we'd win, but be nice to see how we measure

Re: Bama Washington
FSU looked pretty good against UM. Would have liked to see them and Clemson square off again. OSU just did not match up well at all. I hate it ended up like that but maybe these two beat downs are a good indication that the playoff needs to expand. There were better teams than OSU and Washington that had slip ups during the year.
Really this is random but that's what has been amazing to me about our recent run. We have not really slipped up and lost to someone we should not have. Yes you can argue we were better than stAte last year or Troy this year. But we lost to good teams in toss up type matches. I am speaking of losing to for example Idaho or GaSt. Sort of like FSU losing to the Tarholes. We have really been solid despite losing a couple we feel we should not have.

Re: Bama Washington
The only reason I would be in favor of a 8 team playoff is because it would start the playoffs earlier. Too large of a gap between last regular season game and when some of these bowls take place.appbio91 wrote:FSU looked pretty good against UM. Re: Bama Washington
Just my observation but I don't see Alabamas win over Washington a beat down . If anything I thought Washington exsposed their offensive weakness pretty well.appbio91 wrote:FSU looked pretty good against UM. Would have liked to see them and Clemson square off again. Re: Bama Washington
Well I guess that would depend on how one defines "beat down" - Washington and Alabama could still be playing and Washington still wouldn't have scored another TD ---mountaineerman wrote:Just my observation but I don't see Alabamas win over Washington a beat down . Re: Bama Washington
Anyone who watched the game would know it wasn't a beat down. Granted Alabama's defense smothered Washington for most of the day, but Washington's defense was just as impressive when you consider the difference in field position. Ironically, the back breaker occurred after Washington had finally won the field position battle.
In a one game playoff anything can happen and Clemson looked good yesterday but based on their body of work this year v. Alabama's its hard to see the Tigers prevailing.

Bama tends to take it relatively easy on G5 and FCS opponents, though, so it would probably be one of those that would lead to countless "we were right there except for a few bad plays!" posts.

Hopefully they would not be regular readers of our message board where we have a tendency to puff out our chests a bit. Re: Bama Washington
Well, it certainly wasn't "east coast bias" that beat Washington yesterday. Bama was the better team.
I'm still questioning whether Ohio State should have been in the CFP. I loved seeing Clemson win so convincingly.
