I think for every ass boil that stays home because they don't get to go to Disney someone else will jump in. If not we have big problems going forward. We want to expand, pay the coach more get rid of the track etc and our fans are whining about bowl location even though we got the best match up and most rankings show the 2016 Camellia bowl respect. You people who think we were disrespected realize if we had gotten Orlando it would have meant three bowls passed on us right? That would have been real nice for the conference champs. I hate the way this bowl crap works but really this should be no surprise. I am going to Montgomery on Thursday so I don't miss anything on Friday and will enjoy a weekend of App as it should be.

Way over! There were approx 21,000 last year (tickets sold). I think I remeber Ohio had around 3,000, maybe less, with an est 10,000 local based on news reports. I think we sold out of our first allotments and close to the second, which would give us 3k to 5k total sold via App State.

Most of those numbers are fluffed, but I was at the game, and my guess is 5k to 7k App fans. That number will be down this year, but not below 2,500.

I think Toledo will bring more than Ohio did last year.

Well over. We had around 8k there last year. No way we have less than half that this year.

Yep. No way we see at 65% to 70% drop off due to a return to the same location. We are better, the opponent is better. I think we will see a 10% to 20% drop off at the most. I think Toledo will bring 10% to 20% more fans than Ohio.

How do you know we had 8,000? Is that how many we sold through our ticket office?

Not hard to do the math if you were there. I do wish more fans would buy tickets through the App ticket office however.

I'm ready for the tomatoes to be thrown at me and I've fully embraced the move to FBS, but this is what it's gonna be. A random game in Alabama. We sent 15K plus to Chatty for our national title games. It is awful we can't send more than 5k to a location within driving distance.

God so sick of hearing about chatty and the fcs what the heck it's our last game of a great season in FBS! We are more relevant now than we ever were at 1-aa level .

One of the best posts I've read on here in a long time. If your reason for not going to this game is simply because "we were there last year" then you better not ask for facility upgrades or raising the salaries of our coaches, etc. Had we beaten Tennessee and/or Miami and we got sent here I would understand the complaints more.... but why do we feel so entitled? If we want to play in some big fancy bowl game we need to run the table like WMU did this year. We were 9-3 and lost a conference game, still a phenomenal season but it's not like we deserve to be in some amazing game. I get wanting to experience a game in a new city, but that is no reason to boycott this bowl game. We should feel lucky to be bowling again when it's only our second year of eligibility. I guarantee you Georgia Southern fans would give anything to be able to trade places with us right now. Our time will come. We will have the chance to play in plenty of different bowl games in the future, but for now this s what we have and it is absolutely vital to go support the team. We are 9-3 and going to a bowl game, I'm psyched. Can't imagine how you could feel any differently.

Do you think we do any better if we were going to Frisco freaking Texas?

I was talking to someone the other day who was complaining about not going to New Orleans. I asked him if he had pre-ordered his tickets like the athletic department encouraged and he said that he didn't. That's the problem, expecting a commitment without making a commitment.

Please call me out if this is not the case but it seems to me that most of the people complaining are those that don't even make it to home games. See y'all in Montgomery!

Can't make it this year for family reasons, but i would absolutely be there if that weren't the case. We had a fantastic time last year. I get wanting a little variety, but (especially) if you didn't go last year and are on the fence, by all means go!
