I think there will be cancellations. I did not book until after the locations were announced last year and rooms opened at the Embassy Suites. That will be my plan again.MtnDevil95 wrote:Last year I was all over my hotel reservations in all 3 cities for the Dec 17 games, this year work got in my way. While I now ave rooms booked in New Orleans and Orlando, the only thing left in Montgomery is the Renaissance at a "special event rate" that has a no cancellation policy . . . $300+ on a room not used should we end up in Orlando is a bit steep. I wonder what the likelihood of catching lightning in a bottle and snagging a room cancellation from a MAC fan once the bids are announced? We were in the Hampton Inn Montgomery last year, and would love to land a room there again.

Re: LATEST BOWL PROJECTIONS - ESPN
I want a shot at a AAC team. We have beaten teams from all other G5 conferences. I want to test our chops against the AAC, thus my preference for the Cure.

Re: LATEST BOWL PROJECTIONS - ESPN
Just stepped through and checked the major sports media outlets. Here are the projections going into this weekend:
ESPN Schlabach: App St v. Middle Tennessee in New Orleans
ESPN McMurphy: App St. v. Central Michigan in Montgomery
Sport Illustrated: App St. v. La Tech in New Orleans
CBS Sports: App St. v. UCF in Orlando
Fox Sports: App St. v. Toledo in Mobile
SBNation: App St. v. Eastern Michigan in Montgomery
USA Today: App St. v. UCF in Orlando
Mildly interesting that only 2 agree (CBS Sports & USA Today) and those 2 are projecting UCF in Orlando . . .

Funny that at least one person projects us to each of the four bowls. IOW... we have no idea.MtnDevil95 wrote:Just stepped through and checked the major sports media outlets. Here are the projections going into this weekend:

If I had to guess, right now I'd agree with the UCF/Orlando projections. But nothing would shock me at this point.

Last year the Cure Bowl took some random 5-7 team to play Ga St.

Scheduling isn't easy. These things take time, especially one with more than just two games in more than just two locations.HeffnerIV wrote:Speaking of the AAC, whatever happened to the ECU series rumor that was so hot and heavy?

Maybe this has been stated previously, but if So. Al wins and qualifies (seeing how they got their waiver and counting two FCS wins toward the 6 win total) Montgomery may want them instead of us. This would probably be the best case for us in Orlando. Happy Turkey Day all.

Montgomery vs a 6-6 MAC team would be brutal. Even Ohio could barely move the ball vs Akron the other night. Unless it's Toledo or WMU playing the MAC isn't good. Their fans don't travel at all.

I wouldn't give up on that rumor yet. Give this year's team a chance to finish strong and win a bowl game first.HeffnerIV wrote:Speaking of the AAC, whatever happened to the ECU series rumor that was so hot and heavy?

True, but wouldn't playing a 6-6 AAC on a sports sub channel be worse? With the exception of being in Florida...Goapps15 wrote:Montgomery vs a 6-6 MAC team would be brutal. In this instance, I would say no. Because it is an AAC opponent, it would be perceived to be a better win.WVAPPeer wrote:True, but wouldn't playing a 6-6 AAC on a sports sub channel be worse? Re: LATEST BOWL PROJECTIONS - ESPN
If USA wins their final two games, they won't need the waiver. However, if they need the waiver, they can't be chosen before any teams who earned their eligibility on the field.AppFan11 wrote:Maybe this has been stated previously, but if So.
