I agree but there is also another reason and that is we have some fans who are delusional. We have some fans who think we are going to play for a national championship. They just can't accept who we are. We are a VERY successful program at our level. It is impossible to be happy with what we have done under the guise of " I just want us to be better". Newsflash!! You will not get better by ripping up a successful leader. Has he missed opportunities? YES HE HAS ok that has been said. Now how the hell did we get to page two?
Wow, hyperbole at its finest. You can find NOT ONE post that says we are winning a natty. Not one. you know it. Newsflash, NO ONE is ripping TL, we are discussing strengths and weaknesses, which happens to be what every business person does every day. At least they should or will be out of business. Nothing more nothing less. Why is a discussion eliciting such a response?
Well actually I own a business and I would NEVER put my leader on a message board and start picking him apart. If you own a business and make that a practice I would suggest you start looking for a job. We are talking about a kid. A kid who has a pretty strong record. A kid who is doing the right thing. This is sports and we will sometimes talk about players and what we wish they would be better at but the Lamb thing is just getting old. He will not win Quarterback of the century but he will win more games than the vast majority of QBs.
Amen!

Of course Taylor struggles more with the P5 teams. THEY'RE BETTER. I don't understand the point of this thread. Is he perfect? No, but we could do a lot worse.

I can't provide a complete list but I do know he had already committed to South Alabama before we offered. He remembered coming to Boone when his dad was the head man at Furman. He remembered the crowds here during the Armanti years and wanted to be a part of the experience here.

According to 247, Taylor had offers from Arkansas State, Chattanooga, Georgia State, Liberty, Memphis, Northern Illinois, South Alabama, and Southern Miss.. He also had interest coming from Marshall and UCLA

So basically Taylor was recruited by mostly a couple of solid G5 programs and a couple of very hopeful FCS schools. As expected there are zero offers from any P5 schools. He is a solid, winning G5 level QB. He wins more than he loses at the level he was recruited to play at. I'm sold.

Good for you, i do hope you have no issues reviewing your pluses and deltas. I am sure, again, you use hyperbole. Message boards are pretty unique to sports where fans engage in discussion. NO one is disagreeing with your points, but surely discussing ups and downs is not off base on a message board. Thats what its here for!

No actually we have regular one on one review sessions. You are the one who compared the message board to a business session not me. I do agree that is rather odd. Totally agree we discuss these things on a message board. We have just worn out the TL subject. He is a very good QB but he is not a Manning. I just don't understand the game after game reviews. I am sure I am in the minority so I am just going to leave it at that and respect your opinion.

Hear you, but I, for one, like the board for the game reviews. Usually review with friends after a game as well.

You're not in the minority. Most see Lamb as a very good QB who has led our transition well. The fact that Taylor took the job from a previous year starter tells me if we had anyone better they would be on the field. This might sound odd but I am glad to see Troy step up (not glad we lost obviously). This makes our conference better and creates fan interest next year. Troy in Boone next year will be a game marked on the calendar.

One aspect of message board conversation that some on here overlook is that all of our players, coaches, recruits and administrators read these comments. These discussions are not made in a vacuum; they're not like buddies at a tailgate conversing about the pluses and minuses of the quarterback. To me, it's just bad form to anonymously rip a person associated with the school we all love on a public forum. I know this will fall on deaf ears to some, but my policy is never to write anything I wouldn't say to that person's face, especially someone who has given their all to Appalachian State.

Well I hope Taylor Lamb is reading now, because I have tons of respect for him as a leader, game manager, and young man. There is exactly one quarterback that we've played against this year that I would pick over him. It's not like we lost 287 career receptions from the receiving corps after last season or anything.

Anyone that wants to trash Lamb needs to watch this QB for stAte. This guy can't hit anyone. Under throwing, over throwing, and throwing behind receivers. And thats just on two possessions.

There sure are a lot of fan boys on this thread. Some people have simple and correctly pointed out that Lamb has not played that well this year. I think the slobbering over him is a bit of a reach. I'm sure he's a super nice kid, but these message boards are here to have discussions about players, coaches, opponents etc. Some of you act like he's the cool guy in school that you hope will ask you to the prom.

Last year Taylor had a great group of experienced WRs who knew how to help their quarterback. He finished the season with a higher QB rating than Paxton Lynch, Deshaun Watson, Chad Kelly, Cody Kessler, Dak Prescott, Greg Ward, Marquise Williams, Brad Kaaya, Cardale Jones, Brett Rypien, CJ Beathard, Josh Rosen, and Josh Dobbs to name a few. Expecting him to play that well again after losing 287 career receptions and 28 touchdowns, plus his blind side tackle and center is absurd.

And when we reach the point in the thread where you feel like you have to insult everybody who disagrees with you, then you should walk away before you embarrass yourself any further.

Man that's a bit harsh. He hasn't played that well? Seriously? What I find amazing is that folks rarely point out what they deem to be bad stats in wins- only in losses. I'll say it once more, if we had executed a couple of kicks and recover a fumble against UT we win, make a stop last Saturday and we win. Does this thread exist if we are rolling along at 9-1? Nah

Lamb stats:
2014: 216 yards/game, 61% completion, 17:9 TD:INT ratio, 44 yards rushing/game, 4 TDs - used 11 games as he started 10 this year.
2015: 173 yards/game, 60% completion, 31:9 ratio, 34 rushing/game, 5 TDs
2016: 183 yards/game, 61% completion, 11:8 ratio, 22 rushing/game, 5 TDs

I think we'll see his TD:INT ratio improve dramatically his senior year.

So he threw for 31 TDs last year and is not even half that with two games to go? Is this stat line accurate? If so, is that all on the receivers? Asking for a friend.

To play devil's advocate, did the 2015 receivers cover up some of the inaccurate throws? The answer is likely somewhere in the middle.

We've seen QBs in the past plateau or even digress and come back to have a great senior campaign.

He should have a much more experienced receiving corps next year so, if he stays healthy, he should have an outstanding year.
