Foghorn Leghorn

Unread post by CornCobPipes » Sat Oct 01, 2016 1:20 pm

In the voice of Foghorn Leghorn....I say when ...I say WHEN are we going to replace that Kicker?

Enough is enough......poor form....poor kicks...poor set up always pushes right....always kicks low.....WTF?

I can find somebody off the street can kick better.
Pathetic is an understatement!

Let Bentley kick or hell the water boy.

I believe in second third chances but he has had that and then some with no promise of improvement.
KICK ASS!!!

Calm down. Kicking sucked in 2014 too.

Can't believe the kicking game is this bad and why? Also didn't we get him on scholarship? If so I would like to see how many teams across the board waste a scholarship on a kicker unbelievable

I believe what sucked today was offensive play calling

Exactly. Game should never come to the foot of the kicker.

GSU defense was well prepared and we didn't seem to make any adjustments. I've been hesitant to criticize QB play but Lamb doesn't seem to be developing any more arm strength. I hope he just had a bad day especially after the boot to the 'nads.

I'm not sure if you are blaming this performance on Lamb, but the OL, as a group played the worst game of the year. They were not successful at opening running lanes and constantly put us behind the chains. 3rd and long play calling is predictable and when you are trying to throw against 8 defenders in coverage your chances of success are slim.

From everything I've seen, QBs don't really develop more arm strength at the college level and up; They either have it or they don't.

Sometimes you see guys try to compensate for it by bulking up their arm muscles, a-la Brady Quinn, Time Tebow, but in reality that doesn't really improve throw power.

Are we holding back on offense or what? This game was reminiscent of the ODU game. We seemed to do just enough to win, didn't worry about the other offense and were very vanilla. The seemingly lack of discipline is disappointing. Way too many stupid personal fouls. On the plus side defense was stout today. A win is a win

How was attendance. Work kept me away, gave my tix away and confirmed they were used.

I can tell you this the majority of lambs passes were off or bad and the ones that were completed were so by great catches by wideout

According to some, we only run two play, inside zone and outside zone. I think play calling was a result of down and distance. OL did not look like themselves today.

And it cost us two games, so we replaced the kicker and things were pretty stable the rest of the season.

I was pleasantly surprised. Filled in nicely late in the 1st quarter. Lots of folks opted to sit on hill vs in their seats. The only Glaring bare spot was the GaSt sections.

Now as far as electricity in the stadium... it was a very, very flat crowd.

Agree to disagree, I'm not sure what game you watched but he wasn't bailed out by his receivers. Capel drops one that hit him in the hands. Misses were in tight Windows because of 8 defenders in pass coverage. No one is arguing g that Lamb is an NFL QB so why do you expect him to make NFL throws? Lamb doesn't have the greatest arm strength but that is not his problem. The problem is that he is occasionally late with throws. The kid is 23-5 with 3 of those losses to P5 schools. What more do you want?

Matics got injured in 2014. He was replaced out of necessity. Critcher missed 1 FG and 1 XP vs Liberty. He bounced back. No one is hanging that game over his head now.

We didn't play a close game after ULM.

Rubino will be fine.

I did watch the game in its entirety and lamb is great not saying that at all. I just see his throws are way behind and while I did not mention him as a NFL caliber Qb there is a reason we are running the ball 95% of the time maybe young group of wideouts maybe QB play

Kind of hard for the OL to perform very well when the defense has got 8-9 guys in the box
It was just a hard game to watch

Something does have to give with our play calling though. Just scheme even a little. Coaches did not do their job on offense this week.

I'm not worried about kicking. I think by the time it's all said and done rubino Will be one of the best kickers we've had app. Also, I like lamb but Man he is not a good passer and if often indecisive or stares down his target.

All that said, if the coaches get their crap together I think we will be just fine.
