Athletics announced White Out for Old Dominion

ODU just revealed black uni's for this year and word is we're wearing them at App. Wasn't a fan of the ones in the past but got to say these look mean.

That's what I was thinking! Wearing black as the visitor in KBS would be a giant middle finger to our program and home crowd. The boos would be deafening. This could be even uglier than last time.

Wanting to wear white at home and not expect the visiting team to wear black is wanting to have your cake and eat it too. ODU was on the schedule before the white out was announced. They had black uniforms last year, so the possibility was there from the beginning. Is it a dick move? Yes, but App State made it possible. Expect future white outs to be more of the same, especially considering black unis are becoming a popular alternate.

I'm mad this promotion was approved, I'm mad they got permission from ODU to wear white, I'm mad the athletics office got the players involved and made it a "if you're against the whiteout, you're against the players" argument, I'm mad that when season ticket holders got a discount code for whiteout apparel, the selection was and still is farcical. And overall, I'm most mad that in a time when there's a lot to be excited about and unite the fanbase behind a great team, they did something to divide the fanbase.

I don't think the Admin decided to. Do a white out then leveraged the players. Listen to Satt and he allowed the players to wear white per their request. BUT he also said ...If you lose you will never wear white again.
I'm over it I don't care if they wear plaid as lung as they win.

Our tradition is not in jeopardy. What 18 year olds want to wear for one game should not make you upset.

The human eye sees white before it sees any other color. This gives white outs a much more seamless effect than a black out (which we don't even do very well, let's be honest).

Poorly planned and promoted then, and not any better now. Hell, they fear it won't even be sold out with the latest promotion for reduced ticket prices.

Joking aside I took a look at the available seats yesterday and it's sad. large swaths of seats available throughout the stadium. some sections nearly unsold. The ticket promotion is good, but at this point I think we have to have fingers crossed for excellent weather and the walk up crowd.

That's a lot to be mad about. If a white out is all it takes to "divide the fanbase" then I can't say it was ever united. Still a lot made over which color shirt you'll be wearing one Saturday of the year. And kinda comical you all have gotten so worked up about it.

Simple question - Why would a team introduce a "bold" new uniform and then wear it at an AWAY game? - I don't expect them to wear black but some of you guys are going overboard here - "it would be giving the middle finger to APP" ??? - hell, I bet 90% of the ODU players have no idea what APP wears at a home game - all they know is that a whole lot of white ran by them left and right last year and hopefully a whole lot of white will run by them again this year ---
