Re: Entrance song
DG should ask the players what song gets them fired up. And/or have a contest for students to pick one.

Re: Entrance song
If he asks the players they'll obviously pick a rap song that both the students and players love but there would be too much complaints from the oldies that say stuff like "we're going away from our tradition by playing this rap music". I can guarantee you this would happen if DG asked players and students.Rekdiver wrote:DG should ask the players what song gets them fired up. And/or have a contest for students to pick one.

Personally, I think the buildup at the start of the song and lyrics fit.boonetown1 wrote:Enter sandman is VT. We need a mash of a rock song with a beat for base. I do like the intro to hells bells but it doesn't pick up as much as it needs to. And please no f'n country even if the dude went to app.

Re: Entrance song
We did use a hip hop song that sampled this for our intro music a few years back, though I'm not sure what it was. (This song is frequently sampled, but none of the ones I could find sound familiar.) It was probably my personal favorite intro that we've ever had.ComebackShack wrote:How about Lux Aeterna?

I'm 64 and I can get behind the players and student choices cause they are the loudest and stay the longest. I'm a heavy metal guy and don't like rap but I'd yell with the young'uns! It's their time!diehardapp18 wrote:If he asks the players they'll obviously pick a rap song that both the students and players love but there would be too much complaints from the oldies that say stuff like "we're going away from our tradition by playing this rap music". Re: Entrance song
To appeal the rap and rock fans, there are plenty of Rage songs that would fit the bill, though of course most have lyrics that would be at least slightly controversial for some fans. One example:

Re: Entrance song
I'm down with any Rage against the machine. But i still think P.O.D. - "Boom" is an awesome entrances song. "Boom, here comes the boom, here come the boys from the south....."

I believe the song you are referencing is at the 13:53 mark of this video. My favorite highlight video of all time . . . For those of you who are ready for football now, this oldie but a goodie will certainly not help, my apologies.

Lol, I've been accused of that before.AppDawg wrote:APPdiesel wrote:Diesel, your ignorance is showing.
Two people hit the nail on the head earlier...1) Eric Church's "Welcome to the Rock" was unenthusiastic and muted (blame that on the production guy) - that's why it didn't stick. 2) Entrance/hype music is for the players and the students, not for us old fogies sitting in the stands.

Re: Entrance song
Again, we are talking about music - NOT 4 spoken words. I don't care who says welcome to the rock. I know many are in love with Sean Connery, but I have always thought it should be a rotation with someone new each week - a la "Gentlemen start your engines" in NASCAR. Be even better if they could be live on the field instead of a video.APPdiesel wrote:Lol, I've been accused of that before.AppDawg wrote:APPdiesel wrote:Diesel, your ignorance is showing.

Re: Entrance song
I've said the same thing....I could see Jerry Moore, Armanti Edwards, Eric Church, some serving ASU alumni, David Jackson, Daniel Kilgore and Ronald Blair together...the list goes on all saying Welcome to the Rock..
