UT Spring game on TV
I tried to watch the Vols' spring game tonight, looking for this defense that no one will be able to run on. It was basically a controlled game-type scrimmage (quick whistles, a good idea) and the half time score was something like 51-42 and the whole thing resembled a Super Bowl half time show.
They have some studs for certain. If we can keep our guys healthy I firmly believe we'll be very competitive with them. No prediction, though. I don't do those things plus it's not time for BigC's prediction thread anyway.
BTW when can we start the countdown??

We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Re: UT Spring game on TV
I was channel surfing myself and stopped to watch some of the scrimmage. It was painful to watch, especially when the coach grabbed the microphone and tried to get the fans fired up. The QB competition thing was ridiculous as well. The three QB's had to hit some moving target, then some crazy out pattern followed by an attempt to hit the goal post. Finally they all three threw corner routes (so to speak) over a net trying to land in garbage cans.
Way back in my college days a bunch of my fraternity brothers made a trip to Knoxville. If you have never been there (and I assume nothing has changed) everything was orange and people were dead serious about their football team. Almost as bad as Columbia, SC.

Last one I went to like that was the 2nd ECU game we played in Greenville. People were standing in the concourses during the game in an attempt to stay somewhat cool.

Clemson game wasn't bad because it was cloudy. Hopefully with Knoxville being a little closer to the mountains maybe it won't be 95. I'm excited, haven't been to a game at Tennessee since the 80's

I went down that day in the concourse and a couple of fans going by had to BEG the concession for some ice as the people in the concession stand were looking at me on the ground. I will not be going back there any time soon.bigdaddyg wrote:Last one I went to like that was the 2nd ECU game we played in Greenville. The situation that day was dangerous...plenty of people got carted off by the EMTs.bigdaddyg wrote:Last one I went to like that was the 2nd ECU game we played in Greenville. People were standing in the concourses during the game in an attempt to stay somewhat cool.
