Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
I've hit my quota for anti-UNC posts for the month already, so I'll wait to post again on the matter until after the sanctions are levied.

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
I have found the stereotypical unc fan ---
The actual page keeps changing so look for the video on the page that has 2 African-American guys in deep sorrow - now the video is at another bar and begins as Paige makes that off-balance 3 pointer --- check out the blond-haired dork in the blue 23 jersey (David Spade's brother?)-
so typical of hole fans - can't wait to rip his NC jersey off ---

Everybody does it....Everybody is just jealous....It's an academic scandal not athletic....A few rogue professors who have already left the university were the problem.....The refs suck...

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
While Duke ranked highly in the ACC in the revenue sports in the multiyear scores, UNC and N.C. State ranked near the bottom of the conference in football and men’s basketball.
N.C. State’s multiyear score (969) tied for ninth in football and (966) 14th in men’s basketball, ahead of only Virginia Tech.
UNC ranked 13th, out of 14 teams, in football in the multiyear score (995) and tied for 11th, out of 15 teams, in men’s basketball with a 974 score.
article is wrong - number should have been 952
The APR is snapshot of students and their eligibility and differs from both the Graduation Success Rate and the federal graduation rate.

Is that with averaging their perfect score of 1000 APR in all sports just announced? IWVAPPeer wrote:While Duke ranked highly in the ACC in the revenue sports in the multiyear scores, UNC and N.C. State ranked near the bottom of the conference in football and men’s basketball.

"CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — A person with knowledge of the investigation says North Carolina has received a new Notice of Allegations from the NCAA outlining violations connected to the school's long-running academic fraud scandal."
"That first document hit the school with five potential top-level violations, including lack of institutional control. UNC had 90 days to respond, but that process paused in August when the school reported additional information to the NCAA for review."
The additional information was minor and allowed UNC time to compete in this year's National Championship. The additional time also allowed more time for the NCAA to uncover more infractions. Allegedly, the timeframe from 1989 to 2011 is now covered in the ANOA, an additional level 1 infraction and a level 2 infraction have been added as well as existing 5 level 1 infractions have been expanded upon.

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
How funny would it be if their little ploy to delay the NCAA while they cased a title backfired and made the punishment worse?

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
you know that would literally be the icing on the cake - I could have not thought of a more "knife to the heart" scenario than to lose the NC on a buzzer-beater, however if what JT mentions comes to fruition - WOW, WOW, WOW

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
Now that the allegations go back to 1989 they could include years of wrongdoings during the Dean Smith era. Say it isn't so

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
UNC still has a chance to respond before the COI rules, so it is undetermined what the punishment will be, though everyone has an opinion on what it will be. It is rumored that there was also some tampering by UNC with some individuals on the COI, however, it is uncertain if that is related to the additional ANOA violations and is just rumor at this point. It appears the NCAA is not happy with UNC for not self-imposing as is encouraged by the NCAA and "what everybody else does". Instead UNC self reported minor violations to extend the timeline and allow for them to compete in the National Championship while being in the spotlight for the biggest athletic/academic scandal in the history of the NCAA.

Don't forget how their football season ended, too.

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
True...but they really don't care about football - if you were to give them and their fans these 2 options on penalties (just for sake of argument) 1. Football and Basketball would both be hit with a 2-year ban + OR --- Football could take the entire dose - say 5 years of penalties and Basketball would virtually escape with a slap on the wrist --- I would say close to 100% would choose #2NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote:WVAPPeer wrote:you know that would literally be the icing on the cake - I could have not thought of a more "knife to the heart" scenario than to lose the NC on a buzzer-beater, however if what JT mentions comes to fruition - WOW, WOW, WOW
