We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Looking at the new stadium diagram sections 110, 112, 212, and 214 now require a $500 donation instead of $250.
The entire West side(excluding student seating) will require at least a $100 yosef club level.

Mods get ready for quite a debate on here when all the season ticket information comes out.

I don't know the details, but from your post there will be some dramatic responses from the changes.

This pricing is in line and actually a bargain if we are truly a "top 50" FBS program now. Do our fans want all the success w/out any of the associated costs? I sure hope not.Saint3333 wrote:I don't know the details, but from your post there will be some dramatic responses from the changes.

Re: When Will Season Tickets Go On Sale ?
You guys can rationalize this all you want, but discontinuing half season packages and doubling the YC donation required to retain the seats people already have all at once is a bit much. Those changes more than double what I spent last year. Even if you want to argue that the new pricing is "in line" there is such a thing as easing people into it. All that aside, I don't see how these changes put more butts in the seats for any games against teams not named Miami.

Re: When Will Season Tickets Go On Sale ?
Often time in a situation like this, both sides of a debate rationalize their position.
If we hadn't signed Miami next year and had Wake in 2017 you'd probably have seen stair step approach, scrap mini-season plans in 2016 and then make all west seats Yosef Club seats in 2017. Just a theory, I'm not near as close to the decisions made any longer (since 2013 really).
We only have 2% of alumni contribution to the Yosef Club. They've asked people to give for years, it appears the only way people will give is if they get something tangible in return.

Re: When Will Season Tickets Go On Sale ?
This is part of it. It's not run how it used to be. This is part of bringing in an athletic director from a bigger school with a broader plan. Our past ADs and administration did not even scrape the surface of what can be done.
Saint is correct. We need more people to give to the YC. $250 a year is doable and not a huge burden. Your bigger mid-majors do not allow the things we've had. Especially the mini-packs and no fees to purchase season tickets.
Most on this board have been behind Gillin 100% since he took over. This is a move he feels is needed to improve revenues.

Re: When Will Season Tickets Go On Sale ?
Thanks for mentioning that, Hapapp. If one were to look at the Yosef donor list in any football program, one might find my name in a higher donor level than my income will actually support. The only way I can do that is to pay some each month.hapapp wrote:

If one were to begin that monthly payment process now, one could have $250 paid in 12 installments of less than $21.00 per month. I do understand that some here won't have $21.00 per month. I've been there, too, and wish you peace and health. For those who can afford $21.00 a month and haven't joined Yosef, please do.
The Yosef Advisory Board meets the weekend of February 5th. Please make our weekend easier by renewing / joining Yosef before then. If you're joining Yosef for the first time, please tell them I sent you.

I realize that it is what it is. We all pretty much knew it was coming, but it is going to force a lot of people to make uncomfortable decisions. I will be very interested to see how it plays out in terms of attendance.Saint3333 wrote:Mods get ready for quite a debate on here when all the season ticket information comes out.
I'm going to go ahead and say this now; I will absolutely not tolerate people being called poor fans or being berated for not having the financial means to step up their contributions this year. I know it's going to happen because we've all seen it before, but fair warning has been given. Those posts will be deleted.

I think we should encourage all who can to join the Yosef Club. However, no one here knows another's set of circumstances and is no position to criticize.
I'm with Daphne, as a retired teacher, I couldn't afford the level I'm at if I couldn't pay it monthly.

I'm moving up to the Chancellor's level this year and will purchase season tickets for the first time. I noticed the parking at this level is numbered. Any idea where numbered parking would likely be at this level?

Re: When Will Season Tickets Go On Sale ?
We absolutely need to expand YC membership. No arguments there. Requiring a modest $100 donation to get tickets on the West side is clearly intended to address this. There is nothing wrong with offering "tangible benefits" in return for donations and frankly, nothing wrong with expecting them. I give money to Appalachian with "no strings attached" as well - it goes to the General Fund.
I agree with 89's stance against looking down on those that can't meet these requirements completely. But to be clear, that's not me. I have a philosophical problem with the magnitude of the increase I'm being asked to make, not a financial one with my ability to do it.

Re: When Will Season Tickets Go On Sale ?
My stance includes people who can't, or who choose not to for whatever reason. It is not the purpose of this forum to pass judgement on people for how they choose to spend their money. The hammer will fall more quickly for posts berating those who can't, but those who choose not to will not be subjected to ridicule either.97grad wrote:We absolutely need to expand YC membership. Re: When Will Season Tickets Go On Sale ?
It depends on Yosef points within each level. For example, if I've given $1,000 per year for 10 years, my parking space will be "better" than someone's who has given $1,000 for the first time this year. Last year, the $1,000 donors were in Greenwood, Raley, and part of Duncan (IIRC). I believe the Stadium lot required a $2,500 donation the last few years.Lowcountry App wrote:I'm moving up to the Chancellor's level this year and will purchase season tickets for the first time. If you're a young alum, you'll be given a numbered spot on University Dr (by tennis courts / Durham Park).
It's all supply and demand. If we had 550 donors giving $10,000 each and taking all the Stadium spots, then people giving $5,000 per year would park in Duncan, and the $2,500 donors would park in Raley. We're not there yet.

Re: When Will Season Tickets Go On Sale ?
That's my level but you can maintain your current parking location if you prefer. I have done that several years running. Not too keen on the distance that Greenwood is from the main campus and town.Lowcountry App wrote:I'm moving up to the Chancellor's level this year and will purchase season tickets for the first time. Re: When Will Season Tickets Go On Sale ?
Thanks for adding that clarification. One may always request to have "lower" parking benefits. I know our son likes having his spot in Greenwood because there's more green space for his young son. There are quite a few folks who request Liberry Deck even though their donation level qualifies them for numbered parking.hapapp wrote:That's my level but you can maintain your current parking location if you prefer.
