My two cents....The offense looked tired in the first half, mainly because they were on the field the whole half. I think the coach could have used a few timeouts in the first half to rest a tired offensive line. Second, I think our coach is good and will get it done. Third, Said coach did not do a lot of miss direction and no quarterback designed runs. That being said we moved the ball a lot so maybe they were not needed. I think we will do fine the rest of the season other than ODU. They look legit. I think they have a chance for the CFP spot. The best news....we should be Conway by 40...Georgia Southern by 30...Georgia State by 10 and JMU by 3...Marshall by 20...Arkansas St by 15. I think we go 6-2 in the SBC. Boise and Oregon St??? I HAVE NO IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My guess we lose to Boise and beat Oregon St. Mainly because of home vs away. I think we are equal to both Boise and Oregon St.
The offense with the starters in moved well. Coach called a grest game. Swann has to make better decisions and some WRs need to catch the ball consistently.
I'm only going to put one of the 3 picks on Swann. The first INT, the center rolled the ball back to Swann. That's on the center. When he threw the ball to Strohman, the defender had his back to the ball. The timing was off, the defender made a great play.

On the second, he led Dubinion towards the goal line. Fluke Play. Maybe Dubinion should have taken his route more upfield.

The third was definitely on Swann. The pass needed more air on it.
I will respectfully take a different position on the first pick. In my opinion it was a timing route that was blown up by the snap. Swann should have “eaten the play call” and thrown it out of the back of the endzone and lived to fight another play. Haven’t watched the replay of the third one yet but from the stands, I would have to agree that it looked forced. He did take a shot at release so maybe that affected the throw.
When we are running down the field with ease, keep running it instead of passing inside the 5 yard line.
I understand the sentiment and don’t disagree. The issue with that is that the box gets heavy in a confined space. We could have been spreading them out to thin the box and the matchup was one that Swann was allowed to check out of the play too. Alas we don’t know the actual call.

As Saint stated, DL is like everyone else in that he has habits and it is an NFL mindset that he’s leaning on.

It’s a feast or famine proposition. He hits that pass and DL is a genius call player, it goes the way it did and it’s a head scratcher.

I will be a broken record on this....and I know it. But, A running quarterback takes away one less cover guy in the passing game. We need a running quarterback that can complete a wide open pass. South Carolina had it in Loggains offense and they were tough to stop. We don't need a pro quarterback pocket passing. (We have had this in all years when we started our slide.) Zach Thomas and Taylor Lamb would beat you with their feet and a few easy passes. We need 3 running quarterbacks that can throw a 10 yard wide open pass.

Yep or at least an RPO play with a tight end option.

Dowell said today that Swann is getting an MRI and they'll know his prognosis later today.

Bad thing is that there's no Mountaineer Talk this week, so there's no media interviews or follow ups until next week.

Geez, didn’t think it was potentially that serious. Definitely don’t need bad news here.

I see it differently. On the ball that rolled to him, he chose to blindly throw that ball after not having time for a good read. Bad decision. Waste the throw. On the second one, a "decent" throw allows Dubinion to walk into the end zone. It didnt have to be a great throw. Dubinion showed massive effort to even make it close to a catch. Third one wasn't debatable.
Good points. But, what we never know on the Dubinion throw is, was the proper route run. Dubinion had outside leverage, maybe he should have been further upfield vs. flattening out the route.
