We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

No way we were a trap game. Ridiculous take We beat them last year on GameDay ....but way more important....They HAD to beat us for the Marshall game to even matter...

Re: JMU @ App +7
We were doing stuff with the grands yesterday and I had to follow on my phone.
Was it 31-20 App with about 10:30 left and JMU went for it on their 30 at 4th and 3? What was the consensus on that decision? Obviously it’s a 2 score game at that point but seemed like they decided to have a shot or basically lose the game on that call. We kicked a FG and that pretty much ended it.
I hate Trap Game stuff. No good team ever looks past another team especially a road conference game.

JMU gifted us 3 going for that 4th down, that’s when I started feeling comfortable. Terrible decision by them.

And they weren’t worried about beating us because we were free falling while they were soaring high. That’s literally what a trap game is: when one team is doing so well that their eye is on the prize while the other is just trying to survive another week.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 9:20 amNo way we were a trap game. JMU knew they had to beat us AND Marshall. Looking at our loss column and how we’ve performed this year, why wouldn’t they focus on Marshall and the end goal? They did, and then they forgot about playing at App.
Also, for reference: most of their team and coaching staff was new this year. We beat them on Game Day last year, sure, but their fans being mad or wanting revenge doesn’t mean their players or coaching staff resonate. New team, new year, same fans.

If Clark had the performance the JMU coach did with roles reversed he would be hung in effigy and go into witness protection.

Re: JMU @ App +7
Fans are irrelevant to the conversation. They do not play the game. There are enough players on that team that played last year I have never played in a "trap" game when my team was one loss down in the L column with two games to play. If anything, we wanted to annihilate the opponent so hopefully to play less minutes. If it were Marshall, I could this being the case as the game outcome still leaves them in drivers seat in that they only need to beat JMU in the last game.8993 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 10:18 amAnd they weren’t worried about beating us because we were free falling while they were soaring high. This is a good question. I think that it has created a level of volatility and parity.

Remember back when we had really good seasons and late in the year you could scan the depth chart to see all of the players who were coming back. We had that run where sophomore guys were starting and playing great. You knew you had 2 more years with those guys. We had a good offensive line with young dudes- same thing. Now you have no idea who will return.

Re: JMU @ App +7
Maybe of all teams, JMU was hit the hardest given 13 players went to IU...not sure .but maybe Texas St. or ULM were helped the most (coaching change) ...have not studied it...just gut reaction of watching a few non-App games.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 1:01 pmRemember back when we had really good seasons and late in the year you could scan the depth chart to see all of the players who were coming back. This post did NOT age well and I don’t mind owning it. Perfectly happy to eat crow here.Bootsy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 11:54 amDo you really think it matters if JMU has a mixed record against SBC teams this season?
They are a rival. They will bring their A-Game to KBS. Count on it.
By the end of Quarter 1, we'll know if our kids are engaged and hungry to finish strong.
If they aren't, things could get ugly (apart from the score) and the stands will empty quickly.

Re: JMU @ App +7
Who was doing the "Welcome to the Rock" and do we have a list of who had done this over the years since we stopped using Sean Connery?
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: JMU @ App +7
This season reminds me, strictly on the field, of 2011. Talent, but laying some rotten eggs, a questionable coaching staff that believes he have to run the ball no matter what, then on big home games they show up and make us go "where was that all season."

I'm not entirely sure how they were chosen, but it was 3 superfan guys who rarely miss a game. They tailgate in the same lot with us.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 4:44 pmWho was doing the "Welcome to the Rock" and do we have a list of who had done this over the years since we stopped using Sean Connery?

Re: JMU @ App +7
It was a contest back before the season. Send App you best "Welcome to the Rock" video and the best ones will be featured this season. There was a really good one of a Mountaineer running through the woods. There was one of the guy who dresses using a Marshmello helmet (and who has bragged about sneaking a gun in said helmet to games).McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 4:44 pmWho was doing the "Welcome to the Rock" and do we have a list of who had done this over the years since we stopped using Sean Connery?

Their coach made a few very questionable decisions. Not sure how his tenure will go.
