Easier said than done. Our leaders that stepped up in 2022 were not up to the challenge.
Were they really leaders, then?
That’s the point.
I guess that was my point, too. Stepping up doesn't make one a leader, it just makes one loudest. I have no doubt that there are actual leaders among that group of 100+ young men. Just have to hope they are identified and encouraged.
And being the most popular doesn’t make you a leader.
IMO, leadership is a combination of actions as well as being vocal. Take Texas St. in 2022....Unless every player on the team did not see the 3 guys roughing up one of of our receivers and no one comes to the rescue...that speaks to leadership or lack their of through action or maybe better said inaction..
My personal opinion is that ..that particular incident should have been an example for learning by the coaches and players.... coaches got to build a culture and live it...and players need to as well.. a lot lesser talented teams have done well due to leadership and culture..as it improves practice habits and execution on the field more often times than not..

Some guys just want to transfer. In order to do that and continue to compete they must enter the portal. Non-athletes transfer every semester, no portal requirement for them though.
Agree on the ones we lose. Problem is we will have to go after the other guys.
