There is where I beat a dead horse. When there is funding for a project, there is an announcement. This is why the East side plan never had funding secured. Because I'm far from a genius, so I know for a fact it didn't take a genius to know "funding secured" was untrue.
This just popped up in my feed.... https://appstatesports.com/news/2023/11 ... etics.aspx. Looks like some of it has come in
That is about the IPF, not the East side.
The IPF is part of the entire stadium area expansion/addition. Maybe call the athletic department and ask instead of just complaining on here. They’ll tell you the plan.
They have a plan. That is clear. They don't have funding for the East side expansion. That is also clear.
Have you talked to AD personally and in detail about the current funding or lack their of?

The article from appstatesports.com mentions that Tommy Sofield operated a successful sandwich shop for 14 years in Boone. Does anyone know the name of the shop? Just wondering if I ate there at some point.

Speaking of the AD - where has he been? Seems like he was very present on Social Media last year. "Ask the AD?" Am I missing his public comments he is making, anyone have some insight?

If you look closely you can see the purposed east side structure above the existing KBS east side seating...which leads me to think there is a master plan rendering out there.

Leak the whole picture!
Hopeful this includes tearing down the East Side 2nd deck metal bleachers with 10 metal staircases and 100 concrete columns that crowd the concourse.

$150M+ spent in 7 years and we still have metal structures and bleachers.

Take note- https://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/2023 ... -tour.html
Absolutely gorgeous and a great example to draw from. Maybe DG will visit the football stadium when basketball plays them.
Rome wasn't built in a day...have patience.

As someone who has to watch games on TV I can tell you that you cannot see the upper Eastside stands or know they are metal. If they are going to add the new east tower it would make sense to start this winter so as to be ready for the NC State game and for it to come before the new IPF b/c it won't be able to start until a new softball field is in place, which it's not.

Just received this email on East Side. Timely..

We hope you're having a great afternoon! As we approach the final part of the football season, we want to express our gratitude for your incredible support and dedication in filling Kidd Brewer Stadium for every game. App State Football is truly special, and fans from all over the country recognize its greatness, whether they're watching on TV or experiencing it in person.

You may have heard about this project or seen some early conceptual renderings. If approved, we are thrilled about the opportunity to expand premium seating options for our loyal Mountaineer fans. The speed at which this project progresses depends on the commitments we receive.

With your enthusiasm and understanding, of the high demand for season tickets, we invite you to fill out an interest form for the East Tower project. You can find the form by clicking the button below!

Please take a moment and let us know if we may connect with you to share in greater detail the specifics of the east side expansion.

With questions please email athletics-premium-services@appstate.edu or call 828-262-7999. Once again, we appreciate your unwavering enthusiasm for App State Athletics!

Bleachers stay (as I understand it), ramps are replaced. I was happy to hear that, as it is by far my least favorite part of the stadium.

Judging by how long the NEZ took (Covid) and being in the industry, I don’t see this being done by NCSU 09/2025. Even if we break ground tomorrow. Boone is just a difficult place to develop/build; labor, weather, earthwork, materials…etc.

I think the Sofield is coming first.

The new softball stadium at App 105 won't be done until after the Spring 2024 season, so softball needs the stadium for a while. Construction on the new Sofield can't begin until Summer 2024 at earliest.

Good news is that it's mostly open space on the inside, so 12 months is possible if you have all the supplies (and that's a big if).

No chance in hell the East Side is done before Fall 2025. They haven't even submitted estimates or had real drawings or anything like that.

I do wish Gillin would address the inconsistencies in the renderings, such as wrap-around seating in the East Side piece and no scoreboard or Jerry Moore Plaza in the Sofield drawings.

East Tower Project - Premium Seating Interest

This survey was created for anyone and everyone to show interest in learning more about the potential East Tower Project. Within this project, and if approved, App State Athletics will be creating approximately 1500 premium seats at Kidd Brewer Stadium with Club Seating, Loge Boxes, and Suites. If approved, completion would be approximately the 2027 season or beyond. The more pledged commitments we receive the quicker the project can move.

Getting rid of the ramps and a few small adjustments will make the deck look much better. Half the stadiums in the league have some or all aluminum seating. We just need to dress ours up a bit.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Still think they're missing an easier and cheaper opportunity for premium seating and suites by building them as a permanent structure to fill in the bottom of the NEZ. This could be done much quicker and we could be getting the additional revenue from those seats all while working on the new East side (the best side btw) additions/renovations. Not to mention how much better it makes the NEZ look.

Thanks for the info. I wondered if it was Yogi's. I loved their sandwiches back in the day. Still miss that tiny little place every time I walk by. Seem to recall hearing that they cooked turkey breasts at home and brought to the shop every day for their wonderful turkey sandwiches.

Even more disturbing are those silhouette people figures walking around with no faces. Who are these people and why don't they have faces?
