One of the first for my son (He was 4 or 5) was the Georgia St/App game in Boone and it was sleeting and wind of 20-30 mph. It was like someone was shooting you in the face with a pellet gun. He made it to the 3rd quarter and asked if we could leave. I made him stay another 1/2 and then we left. Game was over and it was brutal. Made big memories that day...I hope you do the same in the rain. They won't forget it.abbyjaynes wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 12:32 pmThis is true - guess we won't know for a few more days. I can handle it, just worried about my 5 year old complaining the entire time. Bought tickets off this site last week to take him to his first game and of course I dont believe the seats I bought are covered.......

Calabash is a great visit. Brunswick county is absolutely wonderful. Hopefully the growth will benefit all and not just a few.Longrifle28 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 12:26 pmTrack is shifting eastward. Storm may re-emerge on the east coast of Florida. I live and work in Calabash and the weather people are having a hard time figuring this one out. This morning we were looking at mainly a rain event, but if this storm continues to shift eastward we may get a tropical storm or hurricane. Lots of uncertainty.

My wife and MiL only made it to halftime of that game, they were not prepared. FiL and myself wanted to stay we were outvoted 2-2 of course.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 12:37 pmOne of the first for my son (He was 4 or 5) was the Georgia St/App game in Boone and it was sleeting and wind of 20-30 mph. Re: Weekend Weather
I'm a little worried about the growth. You may not recognize this place in 5 to 10 years. Not sure if infrastructure can keep up with it, and you probably won't be able to buy a spot on the beach. But our tax base and sales tax revenue are off the charts. People from the rust belt and lower New England are moving here in droves....HighlandsApp wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 12:38 pmCalabash is a great visit. Brunswick county is absolutely wonderful. Re: Weekend Weather
Seems too early to make the call for Boone area. Storm keeps tracking east and slowing down (bad and worse for those being impacted). Hopefully we can still have a game as scheduled. Actually, I wouldn't be opposed to a Friday night lights event!

Re: Weekend Weather
I think it's more about Citadel being able to get out of Charleston. Model's i have seen have another direct hit here on the coast line near Charleston. Not only get out of Charleston but literally follow the storm for 6 hours from Charleston to Boone. And then drive back home in it. I'm not sure there is an answer other than for them to leave today or tomorrow to get to Boone. If they dont leave by Thursday, I dont think they are getting out of town. Playing Friday doesn't see like a bad idea just so they can travel up safely. Getting home obv a diff story.

Re: Weekend Weather
We play two FCS teams this year (only one counts toward a bowl), therefore, cancelling would have no effect on bowl eligibility. I assume we'll beat Bob Morris.

Best Western in Banner Elk. Same place every visiting team stays since they're the only place around with a. Full conference room for team meetings on game day.

Re: Weekend Weather
Citadel is confirmed leaving early enough. Assuming they don't have travel issues or other extenuating circumstances, game will go on as scheduled as of now.
If the track of the storm changes, I could see them changing the time, but expect the game to be played on Saturday
