It would take a lot of NIL money to cover the cost of breaking a Boone landlord lease for over a year.
Some of these players are getting millions so I don't think that would be a problem.

Someone who knows more than me take a stab at this-

Projected staters next year and assess if we should upgrade by position over last year. Example is 2022 Chase theoretically better than 2021?

Clark did a podcast over the weekend. It seems that McBride is the solid QB2, with Clark saying they'll have packages for him and he will see the field this fall.

As far as WRs, Clark specifically mentioned Dalton Stroman, the 6-4 WR from Rockingham, saying he could catch the ball all over the place.

I’ll be curious to see if anyone has some in depth analysis. We had probably more guys graduate this year (massive starting guys gone) than in a long time. Seems like over the last several seasons we always had 8 or more returning guys each year. We get the usual sky is falling reactions but I want to think that the young guys waiting their turns could be as good or better than what we lost. Maybe Stroman is an upgrade over Hennigan or Sutton. Have any of the previously unknown young offensive linemen put on weight and muscle and will be solid starters or backups? Same for the defensive line. I worry about the size of our linebackers. We have had smaller dudes who have done well but it’s hard to compete with 6’1” 220lb guys in the middle.

It makes sense. If you are going to RS Burger, then you wouldn’t make him the QB2.

And if McBride were going to be QB3 behind a freshman, presumably he would have gone elsewhere.

Seems likely given we have Brice and McBride, but if God forbid something happens to both of them, I would expect him to come in before Tabscott,

Think you can safely assume almost any freshman QB is going to redshirt if he isn't going to be the starter, or at least have a regular in-game role a la Tim Tebow.

Thanks! That’s what I figured. So Berger won’t even be on the depth chart, meaning Tabscott will be ahead of him on the depth chart.

I don't know the answer to that; theoretically he could be on the depth chart and still redshirt.

In practice, I can't imagine they burn anyone's redshirt to give him QB3 mop-up snaps. If we DID have injuries to the top two guys, then you're looking for a starter, and I'm sure at that point you play whoever you think is best. Especially with the four-game threshold for losing the RS.

You want to wager on which one gets on the field first?

If I'm reading you correct, I'm with you on this one. I bet Berger sees action before Tabscott.

If you listen to the podcast linked above, Clark alludes to the fact that McBride’s presence means that he doesn’t have to burn the redshirt should Brice get hurt. Tabscott used his last year.

He may see the field before Berger. Doubt he sees it before Burger.
