Former App State women's soccer forward Kate Ward of Atlanta (GA) St. Pius X Catholic was/is a special player: she was an honor student in the classroom; she graduated in May and is now enrolled in graduate school; she led the Apps last season in shots-on-goal-percentage; she's a multi-year veteran of international futbol competition; and she has a significant disability.

You'd be hard-pressed as a fan to know it--given her honors performance in the classroom and her spirited play on the soccer pitch. Read about her in Scott Hamilton's feature...

Proud triple-degree App grad--Classes of '66, '70 and '81.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!
