Whatever happened to Volleyball's Vera Horstmann, the talented 6-1 German national Outside Hitter? She transferred to ASU from a Wyoming JuCo and started 10 of the Apps first 13 matches. Suddenly, she missed the last home contest and was not with the team last weekend on the sweep through Louisiana. Her name no longer appears on the team roster. What's up with that? She had already amassed 75 kills on the young season. She was a value to the squad. Fan *scratches head* in disbelief.

She apparently remains enrolled as a student.

Funny enough I'm a graphic design student and have two classes with her. She hasn't been in class for the last two weeks. No idea what happened though.

From all outward appearances, she was a good and happy person; and a good teammate. She was a starter on a powerhouse JuCo team in Wyo. Your comment, however, isn't a good indicator for her future at ASU. Whatever she's facing (illness, injury, family hardship or whatever), I hope she lands on her feet and gets her degree somewhere. Her loss will be felt big-time next season. We'll lose the heart of a really fine team--five seniors who start including probably two all-SBC outside hitters. Ouch!



She'll be missed!
