VB v. Louisiana Monroe (ULM) 2 PM @ HCC

ULM (6-16, 1-9 Sun Belt), just .009 out of the Sun Belt Volleyball cellar, made the overnight "flight" from Statesboro Int Airport to High Country Int Airport for a 2 PM EDT match with our Lady Apps this afternoon. :D The Apps (16-4, 6-4 Sun Belt) have a firm grip on 5th place in the conference and trail 4th place Tx Arlington by only half a game. UALR remains atop the league at 16-4, 10-0 Sunbelt. That 10-0 is going to be hard to catch before the tourney next month at Texas State.

The Warhawks are not a strong team and are coming off of two consecutive losses--including a straight set loss to 8th place Ga South yesterday in the 'Boro. Our Apps are on a two match win streak after a brief, but damaging, two match slump on a southern swing through Texas.

Look for the Apps to make it three W's in a row against the road weary Warhawks.

ULM is about to set point in game 4...ULM 24, App 20. The Apps must have taken this squad too lightly. They'd better get it together--and fast.

This match is a reflection of our season to date...off to a solid start but fading as the match progresses.

A win is a win, but I was not expecting such a close match.

But I'll take it with a smile on my face.

I don't want to rag on the football players after a game, but the VB ladies are very articulate and well spoken. Yesterday I heard a bunch of "ummms" and such. They are all kids and I do not do good in front of a camera so I am not being critical of the guys, but the ladies rep the school well.

I am by no means the grammar police but if you are going to be critical you ought to edit your post before submitting if you ARE going to be critical of someones speech.....

their, there, they're

Ahh, crap you got me and one so easy to avoid. I am going to go and edit my post and then ask what you are writing about. :-)

And I am not being critical of the guys, but the ladies are very well spoken and I was just using the recent interview from yesterday as a juxtaposition of the two. And pointing out the excellent manner the ladies on the volleyball team has consistently done well in front of the camera and microphone is not saying I am upset with the guys after the football game.

I would say this, the "umms" aside, I did not notice any major grammar mistakes that were as bad as mine above so there is that. Though I will also state that being at my level of grammar is not in and of itself to be taken as a compliment. :-)

Thanks for being gentle enough in pointing out my mistake.
