first regular season athletics contest of the year tonight, the lady apps beat wcu 3-2. only watched the first half and they looked good, up 2-0 at the break and looked in control. came back to see they won 3-2 on a last minute goal from sophomore ellie garrison - who looks like a star (2 goals, her other was a penalty).

I guess the match with Radford was an exhibition but either way they have allowed both teams to come back in the second half. Can’t allow that on a regular basis. Excellent start to the season!

Was going to make the same point, strong starts, let's the opposition back in it, then wakes up to win it. Six goals in two contests is pretty good.

First time womens soccer has ever beaten an acc team, and first time since 2016 they beat a power 4/5 team.

I went last night but went back to campus during the lightning delay. Keep up the good work ladies!

Team dropped their first match of the season, losing to W&M 2-0. It was the Tribe's first win of the season. They had dropped a previous 1-0 decision to the Sun Belt's ODU.

yes, they existed well before Title IX

Sure there was some, but much less and not funded at anywhere close to an equitable level. Title IX did not come about due to any great interest in limiting men's sports in high school or college, but to attempt to remedy a serious imbalance in funding.

In putting more emphasis on women's opportunities clearly some of the men's programs have been cut, but if those men's programs only existed by keeping women down then the men's programs should not have existed to start with.

I do hate that we lost men's soccer, and men's indoor T&F. Great history at our school for both, and I hate to see any program cut, but issues bigger than men's soccer and ITF at App State are important as well.
