thoughts on the match tonight from a fan, but not an expert:
+ defense. Kenady roper and McNear were all over the place digging balls and making the other team earn a point. I met Kenady's family and complimented them on her play.
+/- freshman Maddie Smith played well. no live stats for the exhibition to back up the eye test, but I think her and ambrose led the team in kills. name was called a lot. She had a few moments in (I think) the fourth set where her serve receive wasnt great, but overall really impressed with the freshman. some team trouble receiving serves throughout. unc had some girls that were crushing serves.
+ Lulu was good, as should be expected from someone who's been around and starting as long as she is.
- 2 new setters get time playing time, freshman horta and transfer Heidemann. I'm not convinced their timing is locked in yet. It felt like the middles especially were blocked a few times on low sets. But I'm not expert and setting is probably the hardest position, so this is just from my eye test.
+ Ambrose, Winterhoff, Pledger, Smith, Grevengoed were the main people I noticed getting swings.
+ a lot of people there. good crowd.

Traveling Europe after college is a goal for many but to get to experience it with your team while in college must be fantastic! Impressive looking group.

Tough week for App women. Outside the ETSU win in VB, drop straight sets to Kennesaw, FH falling to UR, and soccer dropping one to Radford.
