Field Hockey as of 21 Oct 2023

6 wins in a row and tied at 5-1 with Miani at the top of the MAC. Their one conference loss was to Miami. One more conference game and guaranteed to make the MAC playoffs. NCAA RPI is 49 of 82 schools. Miami is 38 in RPI for what it is worth.

We might in the MAC playoffs. If things line up it could be the conference championship game.

It was not that long away that more than a few on this board asking if we should drop FH. And the main retort was, "It was the first sport App State sponsored for women." Glad to see their success. The MAC is likely the 2nd weakest FH conference but better to be winning in the MAC than losing in any conference. I think the NEC is the weakest conference but their strongest is stronger than the MAC strongest team but the NEC has a good many at the very bottom. I assume the NEC is in a room with no air left after all the other schools in the NE have filled op their squads.

I'm editing this post to move my comment on the big win to a separate thread
