Lady Apps seem to have won the Germann Cup 77.5 points to Elon with 77. I must have made a mistake somewhere in my spring sports. But in this case, I am happy to say my numbers were off and I'll take the SoCon numbers. I'll try and figure out what is off in a few minutes.

I think I did a bad sort and the number got off on a few schools. I think all is fine now. It would be interesting to have a column for revenue, non-student revenue, and points per $ spent to see who gets the most bang for the buck. Enrollment and points per enrolled student would also be interesting.

Maybe next year.



Based on overall competition level, GaSo is not really deserving of the move up, though that is not what matters I realize.

If you're going to be off it's better to be off on the good side than the bad.

I hope the SoCon office does not find a mistake and reverse the numbers. They gave some 1/2 points that I did not have so something was off. I assume it was me and not the folks that handle this at the SoCon office. My file just copies their numbers except for the ongoing sports which is only baseball now which I do manually based on current standings. One could take each sport and championship and do the numbers themselves to double check the SoCon office, but that is something I am not doing myself. I obviously can not be trusted with the numbers.

Congratulations to the Lady Apps. Now, let's do it one more time as our parting gift to the SoCon.

All nine women's sports will still compete for Germann Cup points. On the men's side even taking out Football, which is all we lose next year for the Comm Cup we have to be odds on favorites given the number of times we have won this and the margin of the wins many years, though some years have been close. The Comm Cup is not a shoe-in by any means, but we can take them both one last time.
