What's with the blue on the jerseys?

I believe the Polar Palace was located near the shopping center where Food Lion and The Rock are now. I went there dozens and dozens of times when I was a kid. I think it closed in the 80's, but not really certain.
Ah yes, The Polar Palace, the hang out in my high school days. It was kind of like the below clip. By the way, I was the champ in Foosball (German tables), still am even today!!

The old Polar Palace was located (approximately) between where the Burger King and Broyhill Wellness Center are now. It wasn't a full-size regulation hockey rink, but it was close. I believe it opened in the early 70's, and the ice skating rink closed sometime in the mid-80's. I remember skating there in the late 70's when I was in early grade school.

There was also a hockey rink built in 1983 in Spruce Pine, about an hour south of Boone. At the time it was the largest ice-skating rink in the Southeastern US. They had a ECHL team called the Pinebridge Bucks that played two seasons before disbanding. The most famous player was Ray LeBlanc (goalie), who later in his career was the goaltender for the 1992 US Olympic Hockey Team.

I just saw where they had the store to get the jerseys late last year.

I hope they do that again, I'd like to order a couple.

That is my memory. I think I went there once while visiting my aunt but I am not sure if we just watched the ice skaters or I skated some myself. I guess that would have been late 70s, maybe very early 80s.

Correct. I must have been thinking of the roller skating place.

Spruce pine is the smallest town to host a pro hockey team in the modern era. They were ACHL not ECHL actually, at least according to Wikipedia.

I grew up just a few miles north of Spruce Pine. I went to a lot of the Pinebridge Bucks games and learned to play hockey there when I was a kid. I think you are right that it was the ACHL at the time. I believe that the ACHL became the ECHL sometime after the Pinebridge Bucks folded. I've still got a team jersey, a signed hockey stick, some pucks, and other memorabilia from the team. Some of the players came and helped out with clinics for the kids that were learning to play.

It was a nice facility and great to have in a small town at the time. Mayland Community College now has the building that the rink was in, I believe.

It has been said that it hurt attendance because Spruce Pine was dry (no alcohol sales) at the time and fans couldn't buy beer at the games.

You may be right about the roller skating rink being across the street. I can't seem to remember what was across the street from the Polar Palace in that shopping center. I remember the old Winn Dixie supermarket being there, and the old Chalet movie theatre on the other side of the Polar Palace in the corner, and the bowling alley. The bowling alley is still there, and hopefully it survives the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Hopefully someone has a better memory than I do on what was over there!

I meant to say that I think the roller skating place was near the Food Lion shopping center near Wal-Mart. I forgot about the Chalet being by the Polar Palace!

You may be right about the roller skating rink being over there. I just cannot remember where the roller rink was. I can picture the old shopping center approximately where Wal-Mart is now, if I remember correctly. I believe there was a Roses store there.

Did anyone else order a jersey, and if you did, have you received yours?

I missed the order opportunity and was wondering if I could still order one. No response from their web page.
