The Central Arkansas Bears, formerly stalwarts of the Missouri Valley Conference, play host to the App State men on Sunday afternoon in the Bears inaugural match as the new guys (associate members) on the block in the Sun Belt Conference. These new guys are pretty good at this futbol game--having won back-to-back MVC Tourney titles and having made two consecutive trips to the NCAA D-I Men's Soccer Championship Tourney.
The Bears and the Apps aren't exactly strangers. They met for the first time in the 2017 season with the Apps prevailing in a 2-1 win played at Ted Mack.

Apps win 1-nil on a Camden Holbrook goal in the 15th minute. Keeper Jacob Madden was brilliant in goal--picking up another clean sheet! Apps are now 7-2-1 overall; 1-0-0 in the Sun Belt.

It was a really stupid goal. UCA played it back to the keeper as Holbrook approached. The keeper tried to kick it, but Holbrook got a foot on it and deflected it into the net.

We are sitting all alone at the top of SB Men's soccer, at least until the next game when someone joins us at 1-0. Coastal play Central this Friday for the second conference game, so we may stay on top until Saturday.
