We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Probably so, but I imagine that the painting process required some curing time before additional coats of paint. If they do read this board, they would know not to post half done projects knowing that folks are going to lose their minds.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 1:34 pmAs I have said before, the athletics department scours this forum for feedbackAppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 10:47 amOh good Lord. They are actually posting early so that valuable threads is like this one can be started. They know the folks on YC are bored.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 2:26 pmProbably so, but I imagine that the painting process required some curing time before additional coats of paint. Dumb butt. The term butthurt was used. Reading is fundamental. Not trying to start anything. You project. Just wanting to know if it was you who had his wittle feelings hurt. Now scram.appdaze wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 7:27 amDumb butt. The term butthurt was used. Reading is fundamental.
Huh? What are you talking about? You being confused is an understatement. No one is butthurt. This is a thread about tennis courts. Theres nothing controversial about it. Good grief, there you go trying to start something between two other innocent posters.
Do you have any comments about the tennis courts? If not then dont try to provoke something where there is nothing.

Goodness Cline. The sarcasm was dripping all over my post. Reading fundamentals would have helped you with that. Re: ASU tennis courts
Goodness. If you consider anything in this thread as losing their minds then the rest of this forum must leave you mentally broken. As ive said all along I was hoping it was a works in progress video which it seems to be. You can make fun all youd like. I give plenty out plenty so I cant be mad when one of yall throws it back, but the lackluster feelings being shown by some here about the tennis facilities is kind of sad and is very much a small school mentality. There have been so many discussions on here over the years about how lacking we are in our overall athletic facilities and how it can and probably will continue to hold us back until we are able to build quality facilities for as many sports as we can manage.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 2:26 pmProbably so, but I imagine that the painting process required some curing time before additional coats of paint. Buy sadly, according to some here the that'll due mentality is what we are. If this were the football facility not getting all the trimmings you really would see this board lose its mind.

I'm quite alright and i know what you are attempting to do because ive done it to Cline a million times. No major nerve has been struck, just dissappintment in my fellow App fans for their general apathy for things outside of football.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 4:30 pmAre you OK? Man, y'all must really have nothing going on in your lives to do this much trash talking on a thread about tennis facilities. It really is just kind of sad. Stonewall is right, it really will be a long summer. Anyway, I hope we finish up and get a quality tennis court for the sake of our athletes. I'll pass on posting here anymore since y'all can't seem to stop touching yourselves over a tennis court. So, good job I guess?

Re: ASU tennis courts
A quick search around the SBC shows only 4 schools have any sort of divider/deflector on their courts and even less have painted logos. They all have basic lighting and a small number of bleachers, which I'm sure we'll have as well. I don't want to get too involved here, but I thought a look at our main competition was worthwhile.

Something a lot of people don't understand when it comes to cost is it's not always material..
I have no idea about capacity or laws/regulations of this tennis facility, but I do know in other facilities if you have a certain number of egresses, you have to require a certain amount of other things -- and insurance increases exponentially.
Again, no idea if that is the case here, but if those dividers are generally used as egresses (and that seems to be the case) and other programs at our level have the same/similar set up, I am going to say it's likely something related to this.

100%. One of the hurdles in KBS that limits capacity is the width of the gates. The current width only allows us to get to a little over 40k per the fire code rules. Expansion of seating also requires numerous upgrades to facilitate and infrastructure that most don’t think about.704App wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 9:32 amSomething a lot of people don't understand when it comes to cost is it's not always material..

And I'd wager the reason they haven't just made the gates wider is because they are currently at the width they can afford the other intangibles/risk management expenses in the budget.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 9:37 am100%. If it were as easy as "just make it wider" or "it's a couple thousand for a little more chain link" it would probably be done.
Unfortunately it's not that easy anywhere in the corporate world; especially public institutions where every T has to have 10 crosses and every I is dotted 10 times.

Re: ASU tennis courts
Just a quick look at JMU, Coastal, ODU, and GS reveals that none have courts in their school colors. Or any thing on the courts to identify the school.
