The Mountaineer Men's Soccer squad will travel into the high winds and tropical rains of Hurricane Joaquin to Atlanta for the first SBC match for the entire league on Saturday night. The kick-off is scheduled for 7 PM; but an emergency weather watch and plan will be in place.
The Apps (3-4) on the season and on a three match losing streak, face a GaState squad (4-3) that has won three of its last four contests. The Panthers' roster is loaded with European and South American imports. ASU has had a lackluster record against teams with high numbers of international players since the late '80's. They will certainly have to step up their game considerably to leave Hotlanta with a "W." GaState ranks 8th in the nation in scoring. That stat should serve as a wake-up call to the Apps.
The two teams have had one opponent in common this season--North Florida. The Panthers defeated the Ospreys 2-1, while the Apps lost 3-2. Both matches were played in Jacksonville.
