We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Hank Steinbrecher
Saw that he passed away. Was quite the character (and nice guy) at App. Got us in Sports Illustrated. "Come to America and
play, eat big Lion"

Re: Hank Steinbrecher
He took Vaughn Christian’s program to the next level. We were a national powerhouse. Perhaps one of the very very best in Boone for any sport.

Re: Hank Steinbrecher
What sport or sports will be the next national powerhouse at Appalachian? I imagine that most hope it will be football, but which one will it actually be?

Re: Hank Steinbrecher
We could develop an Olympic sport into a national powerhouse, if we divert resources away from others. I don’t see it happening.

Re: Hank Steinbrecher
Wrestling could be if we invested enough money. We lose guys to programs with bigger payrolls. Perhaps we need to define “national powerhouse “ ? Consistently top ten nationally? We might be closer in cross country. You will laugh but tennis given our indoor facilities, with an investment could make a huge move. Maybe not powerhouse status but a respected program on the national level.

Re: Hank Steinbrecher
Completely agree!
And in a flashback triggered somewhat by Hank's obit and the by image below, I'll continue to remember Hank as he was during his tenure at App with his dark, signature, waxed-and- twisted-on-the-ends handlebar moustache rather than the graying, elder, sophisticated Soccer Ambassador and Hall of Fame gentleman in the more recent image.
My respect for this man and his lifetime of accomplishments remains off the charts.
