Va Tech WSOC 4, Lady App strikers 1 in exhibition play
Experienced Hokies take it to a very young Mountaineer squad in Blacksburg this evening. The Apps have another exhibition at Longwood on Sat. They open the regular season on Aug. 23 at home against ETSU. Coach Strickland has some nice (albeit young) talent on this year's squad picked to finish 6th in the 11 team SoCon. They just may pull some late season surprises as freshman forward Jane Cline (Cornelius, NC) works her way into the offense. She was named Mecklenberg County Player of the Year as she led Charlotte Catholic to the NC 3A State Championship. She was named MVP of the state championship game.
