Gordie Howe, a mainstay legend of the National Hockey League for 40+ years touching six decades and Four Stanley Cups, died yesterday. He was 88. This guy started for 25 straight years for the Detroit Red Wings. Unbelievable. On a slightly humorous note (hockey fans will appreciate this), a small part of Howe's legacy is the "Howe Hat Trick." This involved the absolutely unreal number of games in which he (1) scored one or more goals; (2) collected one or more assists; and (3) became involved in one or more fights.

Unfortunately we lost the greatest hockey player ever today, but more importantly
the nicest man I have ever met. RIP Mr Hockey. (1/2)
