RIP: Morley Safer
Legendary Canadian-born CBS News correspondent Morley Safer is dead at age 84. He passed just one week after his retirement from a 46 season gig on 60 Minutes. (There's probably a lesson here for all who'll internalize it.) Safer was hired at CBS by another legend--Mike Wallace. Safer became a household name in American and Canadian homes while covering the Viet Nam War (the living room war) for CBS. RIP: Mr. Safer--a true gentleman--and a winner of many writing and broadcasting awards.
