Wasn't she not eligible to be on the team b/c she didn't attend the Team USA camp in May b/c she was playing in the NCAA tournament?
The kid is great. Shes a rising star along with her classmates. I'm not in favor of anything but a meritocracy when it comes to team USA so when she warms the right to be there she will be

Honestly, this may be the best think for Clark and her career. She went from playing a full college season right into the WNBA where she is taking a ton of contact. When it comes down to training and playing in the Olympics for a month or getting a month of rest, the month of rest (and a chance to reset) might be the best thing for her career long term.

jealousy - money and something else is a bit of the truth - she is more talented./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 6:26 pmYou could have stopped at jealousy and probably had a point. The rest, as if your "something else" isn't hard to figure out...a bit silly.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 3:27 pmIt's all about jealousy and sexual preference and something else.
Yet Sabrina Ionescu and Kelsey Plum are on the team somehow?

The women aren’t used to traveling commercial. In college they are either on charter buses or charter flights. Why have them travel commercial as pros exposing them to possible illnesses or harassment?

This “controversy” isn’t surprising: since sports news is thin during the early weeks of summer., the media needs to gin up stuff to keep people watching, reading, streaming & scrolling this time of year.

I’m trying to think if there are any other professional sports where an athlete goes from college straight into their first season. College baseball players who get drafted often go to a short season or rookie ball but generally not straight to the Majors. In the men’s game the international teams have about caught up to us in that some countries can put together legit teams that can either beat or compete with us. We really now need to get our top guys to play. I doubt that our women really need CC. She went pretty much straight to the pros and would need to transition to the national team without much break. In my opinion right now she’s an average pro. She turns the ball over way too much and gets into foul trouble a lot. She will either become a very good or legit star player or she might be a Tim Tebow.

My daughters and I watched yesterday's game, first time we've ever done that.
They asked why Charlotte didn't have a team, had to explain we did at one point, but there wasn't enough interest. That led to a great discussion about revenue generation and how salaries are driven by the value an entity and individual create. One take away they had was why don't girls support the WNBA? Kids are great at asking the simple questions!
