Re: World Cup
I have been impressed with USA's back line. They are playing better than I thought they would.

Re: World Cup
Yeah, you can't leave the door open at all when you are playing Gareth Bale. USA got lax and sloppy and Wales capitalized with the penalty.

Re: World Cup
He had done nothing all day until Zimmerman made a foolish tackle. Would like to have seen Reyna in the 2nd half. We needed to possess the ball more and he would have certainly helped there. A result is better than a loss but now we face England. The worry is if we drop that game, England will have qualified, do they rest some players v. Wales.

Re: World Cup
Poor play in the second half. We played not to lose and tied.
This will likely put us in a position where goal differential will matter luckily we play Iran last. Unless the Brits already have six points and lay down for their brothers.

Re: World Cup
England won't lay down for the US. Unless the US find something they haven't had recently, and the English all get sick, it might be a long day. We shall see! It's the glory of world cup!

Re: World Cup
Holy crap!!!!!! Saudia Arabia beats Argentina 2-1!!!!! I am glad I got up and watched this one. History was made. Biggest upset ever. The Saudi Arabians played a high line defense and kept Argentina offsides and the goalie play was out of this world. That was just brilliant! Well done.

Re: World Cup
I didn't think Argentina would blow them out like others did.... But man... I was NOT expecting that. Love it when Argentina looses!

Re: World Cup
OK World Cup experts - I have a couple of questions - First, we watched the first half of the USA game before going to pick-up our granddaughter and We totally dominated and then we saw the final score - I know it was on a PK, but what the hell happened? Secondly, we know this is better than a loss, but how much does this really hurt the USA chance of moving on? We do always try to watch the World Cup matches and I do know a little about soccer (our daughter played travel soccer, high school and ODP) but I just couldn't understand the US strategy after scoring the first goal - it was like they went into a "4 corners" to play keep away instead of continuing to attack? I mean Wales didn't even sniff a scoring chance in the 1st half - it's puzzling to an average soccer fan???

Re: World Cup
USA played not to lose in the second half and didn't press as much.
A tie in this case likely brings goal differential into play versus Iran. If the US were to somehow tie England Friday that would be huge.
