Never met him personally. But did get to see the inside of his press box during a tour of Dodger stadium when I lived in LAX. He was a great announcer.

Hate the Dodgers, loved Vin Scully

Scully was one of those announcers who had such a distinctive voice. You heard his voice and instantly knew it was Vin Scully.

RIP Mr. Scully. I loathe the Dodgers but as stated earlier when his voice came over the radio you knew exactly who it was and who was playing. His call of Gibson's home run to beat the A's in the Series is timeless.

Classic personality of a great, and bygone era.
