Our modem died so AT&T came out, installed new modem and fiber optic to the house. Get back up and running, try to log on here and get the message my IP address is permanently banned. Switch off WiFi and get YC no problem. Anyone have an idea what may be the issue?

I've been getting the same message at home on my wifi there for about the last week now when navigating to YC on Firefox (my normal browser of choice). When I switch over to Edge or Chrome (my wife's preferred browsers) then I seem to have only spotty issues receiving this notification. No issues at work or on phones (when using wifi or otherwise). Strange and not sure what the disconnect is...

Mine started doing this when I switched to AT&T Fiber back in August and still does it. I can only login when I get off the wireless at home. Also, can’t get on from Chrome at work, have to use Explorer. Oh, and work blocks me from posting, so if I want to post, I have to do it from my phone while using data.

Send me a PM with the IP address you are logging on from. Large ranges of IP addresses were blocked because of huge amounts of spam. I can unblock specific IP addresses within those ranges.

I don't know if that is the cause of the problems you all are having, but it is worth a shot.

Started recently.. Now on phone cannot use Google.. Have to sign in via duckduckgo... On computer, no issues other than stating thus is a higher risk website..

I had this problem several weeks ago using the Google search engine on Chrome. Wanting to stay with Chrome, I simply nuked the Google search engine and enabled DuckDuckGo in settings. No issues with "permanently banned" since.

My issue is that the forum simply will not remember me. Each time I attempt to log on, I have to rekey my user ID and PW. It must be a deep plot to let me know my input is no longer wanted.

At work, Chrome is blocked but Firefox works. Both work at home. Weird. I don't check in much at work, less so now.
