Dawn Wells, the girl-next-door actress and former beauty queen who played the sweet Mary Ann Summers on the iconic CBS sitcom "Gilligan's Island," died Tuesday. She was 82.

Wells died in Los Angeles of causes related to COVID-19, her publicist announced.

This hurts. Still my favorite tv show ever and I loved all those people. So happy I was able to meet Dawn at an event many years ago. She was gracious and spent a lot of time with my young daughter and myself. To this day, I can’t look at a coconut cream pie without thinking of her!

I liked her better than Ginger. Ginger was high maintenance.

Loved me some Mary Ann!!

Early on you would think being on an island with Ginger would be incredible as she was beyond gorgeous but very quickly her high maintenance personality and inability to adapt would wear thin.

Mary Ann was quietly beautiful and her farm upbringing was a plus on the island. I could have been shipwrecked with her any day.

Man this Covid shit has to end.

She was lovely , iconic.... and just lovely.

For a week, it's Ginger. Any longer than that definitely Mary Ann. It's sad to hear.
