Blasted The Cradle Will Rock on the drive home today. Neil Peart in January, and Eddie Van Halen today. Guess I’m starting to transition into that “certain age” we all hit when musicians of my generation start to die from something other than self-inflicted...influences.

Will always be go to music to get me pumped up and the party started. Will never forget witnessing his “Eruption”solo a few years back in Charlotte when DLR was back and the jumbo screen zoomed in on him and his hands. Mesmerizing performance by a True Rock God.

One of the best guitarists ever. Last time I got to see him was September ‘07 in Charlotte. Will never forget seeing him on stage with his son, lying on his side spinning complete circles, lit cigarette in mouth, strumming that red guitar.
Curse you 2020.

My favorite band in high school and college. I never forgave Eddie for marrying my girlfriend though. RIP Eddie.

This is for you, and “appchad” too. I was there as well, and it was awesome! But until today, I’ve kind of regretted never seeing the original lineup with Michael Anthony.... After reading Wolfie’s twitter, announcing Eddie’s death, it hit me that I (y’all too) was there, not only to witness the DLR reunion, but to see Eddie and his son on stage together (at least as Van Halen) for the first time ever! I remember noticing Eddie and DLR at times nudging Wolfgang to do things like run up the ramp, etc. (basically, “Have fun kid!”). That’s a special story to be able to tell! RIP Ed!

Yes, thanks for sharing booneboy92. Been jamming to VH and Eddie all evening and reminiscing. Was tough losing other artists like Petty, Prince, Bowie and others from the glory days but this one hits home. Came to the conclusion that VH’s first album, tape, CD is the one that I have played more than any other that I have ever owned. Wonder if anybody else has thoughts on that as we all have our favorites for whatever reasons. Damn, gonna miss Eddie and his amazing talent.

May he rest in peace. I was never a huge fan of him or his band, but I owned an album or two. Valerie is a different story, she tripped my triggers back in those days.
