Any USMNT fans on here? Specifically in the triad area?
I'm posting this message to inform you of a new US Soccer supporters group that I have recently started in the triad area. The name of the supporters group is AO (American Outlaws) Greensboro. We are a local chapter of the American Outlaws which has over 60 chapters nationwide. You can normally find us wearing red standing behind the goal at every National Team match. We decided to start a chapter here in Greensboro (triad area) in an effort to grow the game and rally support around the US National Team. We are currently in the phase of signing up 25 inaugural members so that we can be recognized as "official". Also, we have partnered with Natty Greene's pub in downtown Greensboro to serve as our "home bar" location. Every event we hold will be held in Natty Greene's, on the second floor of the building. We currently have around 20 members signed up so were 5 away from hitting our benchmark of 25 founding members. To sign up, all you have to do is go to www.theamericanoutlaws.com/membership and write in "Greeneboro" as your desired chapter, its a easy as that. 20.00 gets you a membership, official t-shirt, and a bandana. It also gets you discounts on match tickets and trips. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me over email or on here! Let me know if you do decide to sign up, so I can add you to our members database. Here's a few links if you're interested in more information:

We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: US Soccer Fans
Wish they'd bring a game to BOA in Charlotte. The Mexican National team uses it and it's always a great success. I'd go in a heartbeat.

Yeah I doubt we will ever see it happen, for any type of competitive match at least. Large football specific stadium along side of Charlotte having a fairly large international population = no home field advantage.cbarrier90 wrote:Wish they'd bring a game to BOA in Charlotte. Charlotte also missed the cut to be a stadium in the 2022 World Cup bid, that probably means it's not too high up on the USSF's list of stadiums.

Re: US Soccer Fans
Posting this here just in case anyone is interested:
Dear AO Greensboro members,
After taking a couple of months off since the last WCQs (world cup qualifiers), things are about to pick back up in a massive way for the USMNT, with 10 WCQs, multiple friendlies, and a Gold Cup, all to be played all within 2013.
What does this mean for us? Well, quite a few things actually.
As always, we will be watching every match at Natty Greene's Pub in Greensboro. The first match on the upcoming busy schedule will take place next week, on Tuesday January 29th, with kickoff set for 9:00pm. We will be arriving around 8:00pm to grab some tables and lock down TV's. The match is against our rivals to the north, Canada, and is important for many players looking to lock down a spot on the WCQ roster.
Speaking of that roster, it'll come out sometime next weekend, since the opening match of World Cup qualifying is less than two weeks away. The US starts off WCQ on the road at Honduras, on Wednesday February 6th at 4:00pm. I understand that this time is inconvenient for many but the US soccer federation had no say so in the matter. Honduras thinks it gives them an advantage to put the kickoff time at the peak of the day's heat so that's what they did. We will be at Natty Greene's starting at 3:30pm for this match (if you need us to bribe your boss for an early release, just let us know).
After the February 6th match, we will have a month and a half off before the next WCQ on March 22nd. However, during that time, we will be planning a road trip to Washington DC. Earlier today, it was announced that the USMNT would be playing a friendly in DC on June 2nd against Germany to celebrate the 100th year of US Soccer. We have been to DC many times in the past and it is one of our favorite road trips to make. Be thinking about this over the next few days so that we can gauge interest levels from everyone. If you've never experienced a match in person before, all I can say is "just go". Trying to describe the experience in an email can not do the trip justice.
Last but not least, we are 7 members away from becoming an official chapter so bring yourself and some friends to Natty Greene's and help grow our numbers towards that beginning goal of 25 founding members! As always, free beer to anyone that signs up at the bar, what a great selling point.
