That NCDOT would put the sign up at all is silly but that they put it up in the wrong spot, even on the wrong freeway, and nowhere near the state line where they supposedly intended is hilarious.

In all reality would it be worth App looking to do something similar and pay for signs with the Bowl Game wins? I know its not a national championship but I always liked the FCS title signs that you see when you drive into Boone. I think it could be since App is marketing itself as a statewide and regional university.
Also when I drive to Boone, I come up 421 from the triad area and there isn't an App State sign on the I-40/421 exit in Winston but there is one on the I-40/321 exit by Hickory. The 421 exit sign doesn't even say Boone, it just says Yadkinville/ Wilksboro. I think there is an App sign on the I-77/421 exit, but the lack of a sign at the Winston-Salem exit always made me wonder. From what I can tell the I-40 to 421 route is probably how everyone from the eastern part of the state reaches Boone. Could anyone add any insight to if it would even be worth looking into for the school?

That UNC feels the need to put signs up everywhere is funny and reeks of a cry for recognition. Brings to mind their imaginary 1924 Helms Banner and their self-created 2012 Coastal Division Championship ring. "Look at me! Look at me! I'm special!"

I think this makes sense and is worth at least looking into.

I'd pay to put up signs like the old Burma Shave signs... saying: Real Football this way ^. You guys come up thite the other captions. Imagine about 10 medium signs over a 10 mile stretch.

I have to say, bad blood aside and in the interest of game recognizing game, props to the UNCc people for raising hell about that sign and getting it removed.
UNC shouldn't have been allowed to compete in that tournament at all. Placing signs like that all over the state, including next to another D-1 school is infuriating.
