Who cares.
The obsession some of us have with UNCC is embarrassing.

The addition of a third public law school has huge budgetary repercussions for all UNC System institutions. CSOL and their ongoing scam is big news in our State.
If you don't want to read about a subject I humbly suggest you be a big boy and stop your self from clicking the subject line.

Most new lawyers can not find any jobs

It isn't most, but many don't for a time. The legal job market has improved since 2008, but it's still bad. Most Charlotte Law grads never find jobs, at least the 38% who manage to pass the bar.
I'm an Central grad. Graduated and passed the bar first try along with all of my friends. I only know one guy who isn't employed as an attorney of the 15 or so people I still talk to from school. NCCU isn't exactly tier 1, but that's a point of reference to compare Charlotte law, who has a graduation class size bigger than Duke, Carolina, and Central combined. Their bar passage rate is in the 30's year after year, while Campbell, NCCU, Duke, UNC, and Wake are generally in the 60-80% range. Employment prospects are even worse for them, all while paying the same prices as Duke law students.
CSOL has a terrible reputation and they've earned it. They've ruined many lives, from the students who will never get out of debt or be real lawyers, to the general public, many of whom foolishly hired a CSOL grad who opened their own shop after not finding a job with absolutely no idea what they're doing.
It needs to die. And I don't want UNC Charlotte wasting tax money to revive the mess. 6 law schools in North Carolina is more than plenty.

Would it not make more sense to go after a veterinary school vs a law school because there are so few veterinary schools between VA and FL?

I just picture CSOL being run by and employing people who couldn't hack it as real attorneys

No offense to the many fine attorneys on the planet, but there are plenty of successful ones that deserve their own special place in hell. The planet needs fewer of those types.

When I was applying to schools last year, CSOL literally offered me a full scholarship without me even applying. Apparently they rope people in this way and have ridiculous requirements for keeping the scholarship. That place is an absolute joke and should be shut down. I feel bad for the students but, if they did any research on the school, they should've known better.

I only comment because gonzo and I never agree on anything and I hated to miss this opportunity. I would prefer that Charlotte not get into the business of producing lawyers at a time when there seems to be an oversupply. I think the logic here is that a school on our campus would better serve the Western half of the state and meet the needs of many in the state's largest city. While that makes some sense I doubt Chapel Hill will allow this to happen. They are currently and actively blocking a med school in Charlotte, but it looks like we may get some kind of hybrid/partnership program with them that will fall under the UNC Medical Center. Just one more reason to hate them.
