We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Great Article....Sad but easily predictable. There is a reason the old books of "best ways to live your life" warn of these addiction problems. Big tax on the least educated. They love the poorly educated.

Legalized gambling and the lottery are proof that our government does not give two craps about us. Check out the lines when the PowerBall jackpot is over half a billion dollars. Those that pay little to no income tax are certainly paying at the lotto register.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 8:05 pmGreat Article....Sad but easily predictable. Re: App Bets
I always said the lottery is an optional tax for the poor that many take a chance on. Our government does not give a crap about us and this is not the only way of proof. If they did care then there would be no GMOs allowed, all food would be healthy, our healthcare system would be more about preventative measures to keep us from being sick, our border would be sealed tight and they would vet everyone brought in, etc.Appst86 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 5:22 amLegalized gambling and the lottery are proof that our government does not give two craps about us. Everyone is free to make their own choices. If you have access to the internet you are more than capable of researching the pros and cons of anything. Blaming the government is an odd thing to interject into an otherwise innocuous thread. Regardless, no bets for me this past weekend due to no internet, and hoping everyone stays safe.

Re: App Bets
After the mistake of last week thinking our D could stop something. I have taken the over (64.5 I think) on the ULL game.

Same, I don't see us stopping them unless they come in with a horrible game plan. We're going to have to score a lot of points.

Re: App Bets
My betting experience: back around 1980 or 81 I was playing a parlay card, $5 on 5 teams and win $500.00. This card was especially favorable to me so I did it. One of the games was Wake at Clemson and giving Wake and 35 points. I figured I'd take anybody and 35 points. As the Saturday progresses I'm 4/4 and waiting on Wake/Clemson outcome. The bad news was Clemson won something like 81-20, covered the spread. I only lost $5 but that $500 would have been nice. Danny Ford finished the game with walk-ons, managers, trainers and still Wake could not stop them from scoring.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Re: App Bets
Probably harder back then, but with today's accessibility to gambling, I would have hedged the last game!scatman77 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 8:09 amMy betting experience: back around 1980 or 81 I was playing a parlay card, $5 on 5 teams and win $500.00. Also 100:1 on a 5 game parlay is unheard of!

Re: App Bets
This is a strange one. While we are both 2-4 (0-3), Georgia St. has been competitive in all their games, including Ga Tech and Vandy. On the other hand a 10 point loss at Louisiana may be our best performance. We both lost at Marshall (only common opponent) by 15. SP+ has us at 100 and Ga St. at 114 and Sagarin has us at 101 and them at 121.

Re: App Bets
Took ODU to cover the 2.5 and the over 60.5 this week. Just don't think our D can stop them enough and expect us to score a decent amount to cover the over,

Re: App Bets
Feel like that's a good one considering ODU's recent turnaround. If ODU had played the whole season like they played the last 2 weeks, the line would be more like 10.

Re: App Bets
Happy to be wrong and found out a happy little mistake that I actually had taken the under when I meant to take the over, so balanced my losing bet out.
