Did your professor have long matted hair? I forget his name, he used to life weights like a mad person in the Quinn. Same outfit every time, black sweatpants and a black sweatshirt.
No, but same department. You're referring to Dr. Martinelli. Really believed in core workouts. He loved the ol' chopping wood exercise on the cable machine. I always enjoyed when our workout schedules overlapped and watching others that had never seen him grunt with every rep.
As a graduate of the Walker cob of 5 years ago… can confirm martinelli still roams the halls with his crazy hair.
I remember him now as well.

It's a little funny how an event like 9/11 shows your age. Y'all talking about going to class in college, I was in 8th grade social studies class when our teacher came in and told us what happened. We just watched movies the rest of the day while the teachers watched the TV.
Now, I teach students who weren't even alive when it happened and are "tired of hearing about it."
For those “tired of hearing about”, they are destined to repeat it. Next time it may be all of Charlotte destroyed, or Atlanta destroyed… or maybe just a football stadium full of people… so never forget. And be on guard.
While it is certainly offensive to us who lived through it, they're just kids. Their brains literally don't have the ability to think outside themselves yet. I remember being a snot-nosed kid and being "tired of hearing about" the Holocaust because we seemed to have a unit about it every year in school. Most of these kids will have a moment when they realize the gravity and consequence of 9/11, and they will understand why their teachers and parents made such a big deal about it every year. Well... most of them. Some of them will remain oblivious to anything other than themselves forever. And they'll probably be rich "social media influencers."

Asked my 17-year-old last night if anything was mentioned during school about the unusual date. She first said “because it’s your mom’s birthday”. I said no, about 9/11. She said we had a moment of silence and that was it. The discussion around it seems to be falling off a lot.

Today is also the 50th anniversary of the coup to overthrow a democratically elected government in Chile that the US had some part in going back to 1970.
Yeah because this has everything to do with 9/11.
Well it did happen on the 11th of September.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.
