We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

RIP: Woodlands

Finally jumping on the Obit fad.

Very cryptic tweet from a High Country classic.

What was everyone's favorite? I loved the half chicken with the "house" sauce. Neither their sweet or spicy, it had more of a jerk flavor to it.

Is it confirmed they are closing? There’s other things this could mean (I’m hoping it’s something besides closing)

I am full of mixed emotions. On the one hand this is a Simpsons clip so I feel compelled to give a thumbs-up. Yet the news is sad and I just can't give a thumbs-up for this. I hope it is a cryptic message about something else.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Change in ownership. You don’t close a cash cow like this.

Hopefully they're just ending a menu item to try something new. I haven't had Woodlands since I left campus, but damn do I remember it well.

Maybe burnt ends?

Just don't want to believe they could be closing.

Hope they don't change too much. Woodlands is one of my go to places every football weekend in Boone/Blowing Rock.

You also don't use a cryptic tweet to tease that you're going out of business.

Willie Brooks BBQ has brought their "A" game to town. Excellent BBQ, smoked prime rib, and the dessert cakes are phenomenal.

I've not been a fan of PP, as it's very "hit or miss". Some days it's been great, other days it's not good at all.

I have been a lifetime fan of Woodlands, but have noticed it slipping the past couple of years from what it was in years past. Gotta get there and get a giant plate of wings before it changes hands and becomes another PP.

Although I do stop at the PP in Banner Elk occasionally, I don’t like it as much as when it was “Pappy’s BBQ” back in the day. When I was in school, and worked at Highland House Ski Shop, I used to get a lot of takeout from there. They also had one of the best breakfast buffets ever! Biscuits the size of softballs!!!

Remember when Woodlands would sell sandwiches at the football games?
